Language trends you dislike?

My Dad taught English as a foreign language all over the world.

He of all people understood that languages are fluid; they morph and change over the decades.

But he hated Americanisms creeping in to English.

He said when he was young (b 1935), shopkeepers would give him his ice lolly (or whatever) or change and they would say "Here you are."

Now people tend to say "There you go."

He also disliked the phrase "at the end of the day".
He said, "Why use 6 words, when you can use 1?"
He hated the use of "So......" at the beginning of every sentence.

"Why would you?"

Your father seemed a good man who cared.

He cared a lot about the English Language and all things academic.

He left his vast collection of books to two prominent libraries in Manchester and another University library in Myanmar where he last taught and he has supported financially (and will continue to support after his death) students in that country.

Learning was everything to him.

I hate it when people:

Start sentences with 'So'
Say 'can i get' rather than 'i would like' or 'may i have'
Say 'Reaching out' rather than 'getting in contact with'
Respond with 'perfect'' when you order something in a restaurant
Use 'they' for a singular person instead of 'he' or 'she'
Sign their emails with 'he/him' or the other versions.
Don't say please or thank you.

I've not come across this. What does it mean?
It's what woke warriors use as part of their email signatures so that people know what gender they identify as.

Men are he/him, women are she/her and those don't want to identify as either gender sign as they/them.

****. Hope this doesn't come around our way. I could be in trouble.

"Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God!!!" - repeated incessantly in an over dramatic voice to exaggerate some non-event/occurrence.

Hysterical millennials are the worst offenders.

Literally. When I hear people using it incorrectly it literally makes my head explode.
