This is an example of the stupidity, Mod 7 unlocks something, Mod 4 locks something.

The various topics may be a bit high-brow for some, but removing replies and allowing the topics to continue would be better than this small minded locking.

The reply in the past has usually been "go somewhere else if you don't like it", but I have seen in the past few days with another forum that was plagued by moderator interference, the moving to somewhere else of several main contributors. The forum is now a shadow of its former being.

Why should a post be removed just because you don't agree with it?

I don't believe that drivers should speed and I see no way that a terrorist can be identified without the chance of error.

Come to think of it - most of the population would say the same.

Maybe it's your post that should be removed.

I completely agree (with oilman) which is why I created the topic.

I've passed it onto site admin but I won't hold my breath as the main protagonists are probably the site owners

The mods need to chill out a bit, a little 'squabble' doesn't hurt once in a while. No blood can spilled in an internet forum.

The 'rest' of us were having a worthwhile debate.

It's pretty obvious what's happening. There are people in this forum that know they cannot beat me in an argument - so they alert the moderator and say the thread should be closed as it is going nowhere.

I concur.

Given that racism and The Holocaust don't get discussed any more, there are far too many moderators with far too little to do.

We've also entered another era of posts being silently deleted - basic cowardice and incompetence; it's almost like having "MOD 2" back again.

The forum is titled "General Discussion" not "Argument". Only the insecure turn a discussion into an argument. Why do you want to "win"? Answer that (he won't). I'd quite happily concede you win in any topic you post as soon as your first post is presented, but then most of us aren't here to "win".
