I found this article in a paper dated November 2006 under my carpet today when I took it up to lay some cables under the floor. Looks like Labour were no better.

That is because both new Labour and Tory govts need high immigration as fuel for their neo liberal policies

Tony Blair made the error of not imposing transitional controls when the A8 countries joined.

the govt estimated the number of Eastern Europeans coming into the UK was predicted to be in the region of 10,000 but instead 130,000 arrived in 2004 and 2005 oops!

mind you they were good for the economy

Well they were good for those employed in law enforcement

There work load and over time went up ;)

Every cloud

A good idea of Blair's to offer the failed asylum seekers a bribe of £3000 to return home voluntarily!!! Rather than returning to the UK hiding in the back of a truck, they could just buy the truck. ;);)

Probably cheaper than lengthy legal fees.

Report on the radio the greeks have had enough and are turning migrant boats away towards Turkey

They said the are not going to be Europe's refugee camp or staging post

Basically the EU has Been told to go and do one

Italy are of the same mind set

Daily Mail nothings changed

A lot has changed.
And the momentum for change was building up since 2006.
Culminating in the 2016 leave victory.
The LWR back then were as usual spouting the benefits of large scale immigration into this country and rubbing the noses in the schitt of multi - culturism of anyone who dared to dis-agree or voiced a different opinion.

Interesting article on the BBC today.
It focuses on Mediterranean migration, and on integration into society by migrants in Germany.
It may dispel some of the myths surrounding immigrants in society.

One comment about the increasing numbers of channel boat crossings in the later years is interesting, it was due to improved security around vehicles in France.
So there is no increase in these later years, just a difference in the methods chosen to cross the channel.

Remember your own words next year after UK leaves the SM......you reap what you sow

It's a miserable time to be a brexiteer, you will be facing one chaos after another.

Those EU talks are going well aren't they.....we certainly made the weak EU back down :ROFLMAO:
