Rishi Sunak

How will Rishi pay for this? Bloody socialists spending other peoples money.

We'll all pay for it obs, this is hopefully short term relief. Instead of your standard grandstanding maybe you could enlighten us with what you would do?

Very rough calculation, assuming there's £300bn being spent, that equates to roughly £15k per working person. Eek!

I don't know the stats but it's worth remembering that not all our tax comes from us directly. Companies also get taxed and at one point it was a significant fraction of the tax take.

Any grants or payments that are being offered

My / our snouts will. Be in the trough ;)

:)

Tis what scoundrels do

Getting nothing as far as I know. That's my brothers situation.

My better half was asked to take unpaid leave yesterday. The company can't/won't apply for the 80% help.

The govt have done pretty well on economic measures and legislation considering theyve done it in days. Its quite a testament to the civil service getting the technical details worked out.

I cant imagine what shape the economy will be when we get to the other side of this pandemic.

If it goes on too long it will become very difficult to restart the economy.

In theory there should be pent up demand, but what purchasing people have put on hold, may not get reinstated if theyve spent all their money.

I'm going to print that off, frame it and put it on my toilet wall, Notch said: ….

Ground zero, financial crash x 10, maybe 20, maybe 50,

Not really, it's just a case of govts 'creating' money to lend to themselves, the amounts required will be hard to grasp and pocket calculators will need to be made wider to handle the number of zeros, the difficulty will be getting money to the lower echelons in order for them to spend it, that's why we've never fully recovered from the financial crash, wage stagnation, lower classes not spending because they're not earning, that's what they talk about at the G10 and Davos. The Elites are slowly learning that their fabulous run of luck is over for now, unless some redistribution occurs the alternative doesn't bear thinking about. Capitalism will collapse and the poor will get angry, and they know where the Elites live.
