Slave drivers

Should I quote all the stories of people wanting their help in their desperate hour of need but never got it? Nah!
Its a term of endearment from the 60's but thanks for the compliment anyway.
Ex Biro Top aswell perchance?
when i actually find that "helpful" copper i might just relent? :D

i used to bite my tongue with biggoted people like you and get on and do my job but these days if i was still a copper i wouldnt **** on you if you were on fire.

howay thermo it depends which side of the fence your on

ive been on both sides

there are still some good and sensible bobbys about they just seem to be in the minority now

i know kev, its the same with all walks of life. I and most people i worked with dealt with people in a decent way, it just gets up my nose when some people lump eveyone in the same category, without looking at it from the other side. I dont have to bite my tongue now!

I thought that was the job of a fireman but thanks anyway for the offer, though id have to do what most other people have to do these days and not rely on a council tax paid official of HM Bobbies to get things done but do it myself anyway as they are too busy shooting innocent people and hounding drivers to do the job they are employed to do.

Or am i being a bigot in saying so?

Big git maybe?

Havnt seen any argument you've put forward that wouldnt suggest you are oblivious to anothers viewpoint so does that tar you with the same bigot brush or are you just biased being an ex copper?

a lot of people on this forum know what the world is like from a civilian viewpoint.

few barely understand the life of a rozzer.

no one can criticise unless they have been a rozzer.

all of us have been civilians.

'tis you who are blinkered tim west.

Looks like I could be next in line anyway, as I nearly got suspended for someone else's cock-up! "How" you ask, can this happen if you did not do the work?? :?
In "our place", nothing follows a logical path. Just the path of who has the longest tongue and who has his butt checks spread open!
HUGE company......but very back scratchy environment.
But what can you do, WHERE the **** could I get another job in todays job market place....?
Was thinking of asking the wife to sleep with the boss, cool things down a bit!

No one can criticise unless they have seen the way coppers behave against you when you are standing up for your rights and doing no more but standing peacefully chanting yet are assaulted by them quote Warren Mitchell on the Wogan Show circa 1984 " The EETPU are a moderate union and must have a genuine argument to go out on strike like they have"

You say im blinkered but in fact im talking from having my eyes opened by what i saw, perhaps you havnt seen the "other side" of the argument yet?

and the general term of police is directed at the institution and those responsible as said before not all individuals but as a "bigot" I probably dont come across to you like a person with a legitimate argument against them.

and it doesnt bear well for the pigs i'm afraid.

disgruntled?

i wonder if you would use this term if you were in trouble and needed help from the police.

what a prat.

And I thought coppers had thick skins

The same people who have no respect for the law (police) are the first to start shouting when something goes wrong in their lives. A burglary, an assault etc.

Sticks and stones and all that.

An insult from someone you don't know means nothing, its just noise.

I worked as a doorman for a while and when we had a new name chucked at us it was almost entertaining. 8)

So the Press cannot criticise, a Judge cannot criticise, a Coroner cannot criticise, an MP cannot criticise, the General Public cannot criticise, NO ONE can criticise the Police UNLESS they have actually been a Police Officer? What an utter pile of tripe. Are you telling me that no one can criticise anyone else's work unless they have actually been employed in that line of work themselves? Oh wait, NO! I've got it now, the Police are a special case eh? FFS, grow up man!

what like banging their sheilds with their batons

outlawed according to the police federation
it didnt happen my ass

but the *******s still did it to antagonise the picketts

thatcher and mcgregor should rot in hell for what they did to british industry

We were striking as we as tradesmen at the BBC in the 80's were being paid the same as the cleaners and only asked for parity with the other trades such as the chippies no more no less, we were out on strike for just 8 weeks but during that time picketted several venues including the one where i saw things that will stick in my mind forever maybe not on the scale of what the miners put up with but still disturbing when up to then I thought we lived in a democratic and just society.

We picketted the Rock and Pop award ceremony in Park Lane in the 80's and what was a peaceful protest soon became a show of strength by the police, I for one was threatened with arrest merely for chanting what we believed was an innocent phrase, "what do we want" "when do we want it, now!" "what happened to freedom of speech?" I said to the officer anyway we were dispersed and a few of us were walking up the side of the building when the police for no reason released their dogs on us!
we ran as fast as we could some banging their hands on the sides of the BBC Scanner vans(huge lorries where the production sit on OB's) that were parked up beside the building nothing more than that.

The next day Jonathan King who was presenting part of the show, in his Sun newspaper column wrote of the electricians surrounding the Scanner vans and rocking them and finally topping these vehicles of god knows how much tonnage over! and as King(he was in the building at that time not in any of the scanners unless he was the invisible man and walked straight past us) and other members of the production crew crawled out on their hands and knees they were set upon and beaten over the heads by the electricians with spanners! such lies to discredit us what spark goes around with a spanner in his pocket around town?? unbelievable but an eye opener to what the system can do to discredit someone in the eyes of the public and it worked as we faced a lot of abuse from members of the public at future picket lines.

I was an eye witness to what went on and i know none of what that future pervert King said was true, good job he got his come-uppance later on in life when his sexual practices as a paedophile were revealed of which he was convicted and jailed.
