Spell it out...

Story on R5L just now. Someone was playing football with their 5yo girl.
An "official" from Lambeth Council wearing a hi-vis vest came up to them and told them it was not the kind of exercise they wanted to see....
The adult told the official that she did not run and did not own a bike, but the really sad thing was that he was happy to be told to go home...

It's bad enough this country becoming a police state, but when other people start joining in....

DP have some composure please. The law of this country, whether you obey or disobey it, is borne of the Bible and the Christian religion, whether you are a believer or a non-believer. That is where our law comes from wily-nily (whether you like it or not). The point I was making is that, if you are not brought up as a Christian, or at least with Christian "values", the law will be like a foreign language to you and you will constantly be puzzled as to why you are not allowed to do this or that.

Christianity served us well for a thousand years, and you are living off its capital whilst wishing to destroy it.
Utter tosh..If you wish to believe in non existant gods etc..crack on..just leave me out..Church going is falling out of fashion....Science,tech,society ..etc all moving away from that superstitious ancient nonsense.

Do you really believe this pile of stinking rubbish?

Who would you like to see enforcing the lock-down Secure? Nuns?
Who would you like to see enforcing it?

I tell you who I want to see enforcing it. Police who actually know the regulations and what is and isn't allowed and not officers who have their own ideas about what the public should or should not be doing. I want to see them being fair and even-handed and not using it as an opportunity to raise revenue.

As for the "officials", they know even less than the (mostly clueless) police!

See this?

"If you are seen breaching any of these rules you will be issued with a FPN."
WTF!!
And a thinly-veiled threat:
"Help us to keep your park open"
Which means, if you break these non-rules, we will close the park.

Me? I'm not the one complaining, though I'm ambivalently content with the job the police and officials are doing. I'm not the one determined to be disobedient or keen to break the law, either.

:( I had a problem when I went to buy paint. Car not used for some time so the alarm had flattened the battery. We've been shopping locally so not used at all.

For personal reasons, I have not used one car for over 4 weeks, and yesterday it wouldn't even unlock. You've reminded me to put the charger on it.

Looking at the notice in your picture, I think it refers to Park Regulations, not the law of the Land.

I should think a council can make the rules for council parks, such as "dogs must be on leads" "no ball games" "do not sit on the benches"

No problem unlocking mine but it autolocks when the ignition is turned on. 3 attempts to start and needed to use the mechanical unlock.

:( Dam charger is probably 25+ years old and pretty sure battery chemistry has changed so aught to get a new one really. Gunson automatic with a float setting.

On the blipper, I meant. If I unlock it with the key, the alarm will probably go off.

don't know why I bother owning a car, mines due for its MOT next month, it's gone the grand total of just over 300 miles this year.
