Tesco and Morrisons give up £859m coronavirus business rates relief

Anyone not furloughed is not furloughed for one reason - there’s no need to as they have no disruption to their business.
And yet someone boasted about taking money for work that wasn't going to be done anyway...

The John Lewis Partnership, which owns Waitrose, and Marks & Spencer were adamant on Thursday that they would not return the money, despite also benefiting from strong food sales during the pandemic.

Someone said that the returned money should be used to help pubs. Hear hear!

Pubs are amongst the businesses that have suffered the most from this madness; the government seems to hate them.
 
They helped themselves to more than that by sneakily removing the 5p bags and forcing people to buy their own expensive bags.

  • maintenance costs
  • transportation costs
  • will your fashion taste change before 1000 trips.
