I know the one you mean. It is near Driffield the one in the picture. It is a place called Scorborough. Not Scarborough. I had never been there before it consists of a few farms only. The church near brandsburton is lovely. I get to work around all these beautiful villages and old churches because of the ageing lines. So quite often in places I have never heard of or even knew existed.

IIRC, there are loads of lovely little villages in that part of East Yorkshire. They all seemed to have a duck pond.

I think he feels like he has been released from prison and is ashamed of it and has withdrawn into himself. Whereas in reality it isn’t him that should be ashamed.
