What have you been doing today?

Well, just back from the dentist.
Doesn't hurt
See, nothing to worry about! And good news that no bone graft was needed. I think you may have trouble sleeping tonight though.

Anyone remember these cable driven dentist drills - that’s what was used on me as a child until 'Billy buzz' was brought in!

Just got back from the vets. Took my dog out for her daily walk and we were back indoors by 10.00. I even called in the vets on the way home to weigh her and pick up some flea/worm tablets. She was as good as gold. She did let out a Yelp as I was drying her down with a towel but I put it down to her ear that she has been having trouble with. Anyway, I gave her a treat and she settled down beside me on the sofa. When Mrs Mottie came home, she went all shy and gingerly waddled up to her with her tail between her legs instead of running up and making a fuss. Straight away Mrs Mottie said there’s something wrong and started checking her over....and found a bloody great four inch tear on her inner thigh - you could actually see the muscle! She was distraught so I ran the dog straight up the vets. I could kick myself, letting her sit there and not even noticing. Anyway, the vet said superficial tear to the outer layer - no obvious signs of ligament or vein damage. Picking her up later as sedation and stitches are needed. :(

Doesn't hurt (apart from injections), and I especially asked for the gel you guys talked about! Felt left out.

Implant stuff doesn't hurt while doing it, not in the slightest but now they're wearing off, I can honestly say it bloomin hurts. Face is half swollen, got a bag full of goodies - pain killers, anti-inflams and some antibiotics. No bone graft needed though in the end, which is cool. Didn't much fancy someone else's bone!
I donated my left hip for bone grafts, there some top notch bone out there, my right one went to the dogs home cos I had a transfusion after the left op

You're not having much luck at the moment!.

Rear wheel off, rear shock linkage off, rear shock removed, exhaust servo and bracket removed, nearside rear panel and master cylinder reservoir etc.

All for two bloody fittings ffs..

So, are you all done? That was quick! Mrs Motties mates implant was an ongoing saga of things going wrong and was done over a period of nearly a year, going back and forth taking infections and bone grafts into consideration and she has spent just over £10k on one tooth! It hasn’t been in a year and two weeks ago it fell out! She had just a spike sticking up where the tooth was. Looking back, she wished she’d have just had it removed and a plate fitted.

Yep, and it was a pain in the arse to bleed just to top it off!, all done and back together.

Can laugh about it now..

Sorry about your woofa - hope be ok, poor love :(

Going back on Friday to fit a temporary bridge, then it's a waiting game. Takes approx 4 months for the bones to heal/fuse. If all goes well, I then get my final crowns fitted and then that's done.

Yes, infections can happen, Mrs Motties mate must've been unlucky, poor thing. I been given antibiotics for the next few days and a lot depends on the dentist using clean tools, the skill of the dentist, no smoking or drinking anything naughty and good oral hygiene. I'm not allowed to brush my teeth tonight but from tomorrow onwards, can brush but avoid the wound and have to use a salt water gentle rinse after each meal/drink. If you smoke, have diabetes, cancer then it can stop the implant healing in the bone. Smoking causes 50% of failures of implants too.

Not everyone is a candidate for an implant, some dentists will carry on regardless coz of the money involved. I am hoping my dentist is ok - he's an oral/facial surgery specialist, teaches as well as works in A&E in the eve.

My brother has had an implant for 5 years so far..

I wouldn't have minded some of your bone :) :) (waits for the rude jokes!). I joked to the dentist and hope the person donating was dead - he said they were!!
