i see the bbc are doing a program about white working class ,and what effects new labour, immigration job losses , break up of there old communitys and the rush to get into the UK by our new EEC mates, is having on us, and if we are allowed to have our say without the usual rot of being accused of racism, do any MPs give a toss what we we think :?

Obviously not.

Now, culture minister Margaret Hodge has said that the "Proms" are not inclusive enough of our multi-cultural society. Too much flag waving and 'Britishness' apparently

At least the PM has publically said she is misguided with that statement, and he thinks the proms are a great traditional spectacle (or words to that effect)

It's frightening that she was stupid enough to open her trap and spout such nonsense though.

Obviously not.

And we don't want that do we, God forbid. Errr......That is my God who is not better than your God (if indeed it is different, err.. not that it matters if it is) I am sorry if I offended anyone in any way, please take over my country as penance.

We are all Europeans now. The concept of different country/race is irrelevant.
Like Welsh or Scottish or Polish or Latvian or French... we are all Europeans. Live with it. Even if you are Pakistani you are European now. If you live in Europe - then you are European.

The Proms are a right old spectacle. What a load of old nonsense it is, should be banned on the grounds of making people look silly.... or they should at least learn some new songs.

MS hodge describes her self minister of culture, the only culture we have left is drug culture, gun culture, and binge culture. people like her have sold britain out.

If that wasn't so true it would be quite funny.

Ms HODGE, SHOULD BE MADE MINISTER FOR THICK AS S*** & dont give a toss, so there :win?

Barack Obama v Hillary Clinton

the bbc is disappearing up its own hole.
who should it support? a black man or a woman!
what a pity one of them is not gay because im sure the person two of the big three 'issues' would get their support. :(

the emperors new clothes
we live in a country where the majority is ignored and any minority is appeased and exalted.

they make ordinary people like myself have an opinion when i would not have cared about these issues if left alone, common decency in me would have intergrated/ accepted these changes in my country.

how long has this been a problem yet only now is the bbc putting forward another side of the debate.
...........

the proms are not my thing but i wouldnt want to go to a bullfight if i lived in spain.

What the hell are you on about? Are you saying that being black or a woman should be regarded as an 'issue'?

Cricket is not my thing but I wouldn't want to charm a snake if I visited India.

go steady with your what the hell attitude.why cant you just ask me to clarify, or could it be that you have already decided what i mean

the question was about the bbc.
i do happen to think that if an ordinary white man was up against a black man, or a gay man/person or a woman, or even osama bin larden then the bbc would support anyone; rather than that ordinary white man.

is that so hard to understand.
its the bbc that makes these things 'issues' not me.
so i suggest you aim your indignant attitude towards the bbc; and not me!
......................

somebody else mentioned the proms!
it has been suggested that it should change to suit a multi cultural audience.
it seems that its much too british.
if i lived in spain i would not go to a bullfight but i would not ask for it to be changed to suit me.
same for the hajj in mecca or the carnival in rio.

this is what i think!
i dont actually care what you think, and i care less about what you're gonna tell me im 'supposed' to think.
have a good day

You can think whatever you like. But your post came across a bit lopsided, and I don't particularly think the BBC are that biased, apart from the odd discrepancy here and there. I spend more time on the BBC news website than actually watching the telly t.b.h. and I find the news reports on the website to be impartial, 99% of the time.

The proms thing is a non-issue, there are no multi-cultural groups screaming for the proms to be changed. It's just the sensationalist reporting on a bad or misguided quote that created this little storm in a teacup.
