I bet you would find more negative opinions on here about Ideal as a company and previous history than positive

I am sure I will however by some miracle it appears they have made a decent boiler (so far)

That's exactly what people said when Ideal came out with the Response.
I wish you good luck, you will need it.

people are so quick to forget, why would you lumber yourself with a potential ticking time bomb when there are so many other options available. Im fed up of advising people against buying such sh1t products, with sh1t back up and sh1t aftersales, after reading the problems of previous models why would you be so stupid. That's a very strong opinion and of course you are justified and entitled to it.

If I am to make a mistake it will be one made with the benefit of hindsight knowing the history of what is written here.
But what if a company not necessarily Ideal thought hard about this and have developed a genuinely strong product somebody at some point has to take a chance and be at the bleeding edge of the companies technology.

I appreciate once burnt once your opinion can be tainted for life but lift the blinkers of hate for a minute and see that I am and others are prepared to take a chance and I will not come crying to this forum if later it bites me in the arse

its not just once out of 30 boilers we fitted 29 failed within warranty and one Ideal couldn't get an engineer out in under a week then refused to even pay for a PCB despite it still being in warranty

Ideal have caused more aggro than you can imagine over the past few years. just because they have lauched a new model it doesnt make me want to skip through fields of daisys with my shirt half undone holding Kylie Minogues hand. i really hope you are happy with your logic but after the isar/icos ordeal im afraid i cant share your enthusiasm.

No sweat no offence taken I am not expecting any friends on this topic and I honestly do not have any idea what heartache ideal products have caused people in the past and would not make light of the subject

i do not know of another company in the same league as Ideal ****e boilers!!

yes others have had problems, yes some need a very stiff boot up the backend but in my experience no one comes close to being as carp as Ideal!

nope! apart from halstead, i personally have had very little problems with them
fitted over a 100 ferroli modena's / F24/30's not one has been problematic
gw fitted a few betacom and flexicom's again no trouble as yet, ravenheat never fitted but have serviced many again without issue.
