Cheaper to take on a ready trained immigrant than train our own.

susie the reason is simple they can get away with paying immigrants below the minimum wage cause no one cares! as for the youngsters most are thick and lazy that is why no one wants them, we have bred our own downfall. the lazy kids have seen their lazy parents get handout after handout whilst sitting in front of their big plasma screens smoking and drinking whilst watching crap like the kyle program no wonder they are the way they are.
the education system is lousy for a lot of kids and they end up not being able to even spell correctly or add up.

Some / most blame has to be put on parenting.

It's and insult to your kids, my kids (both employed) and everyone else's kids. It's a generation of hopelessness that keeps on getting worse. The school kids know there is no job so just give up. The non-academic kids that would become apprentices are left to rot by bringing in immigrants. THAT is the problem.
It does not help either when our governments have given our jobs away to other countries, work that should be used to employ our own people is disappearing, firms that set up on the efforts of the British workforce close, and the factories then move to where labour is cheaper, to increase their profits.

Twinings should have gone to China - There`s plenty of discharged seamen , along with bombadiers, sappers and ghurkas in this country due to defence cuts
