Sadly, it seems to be the bloody norm these days YRC. There's a lot of irresponsible dog owners these days. Whenever I take my dog a walk (or even if he's just wanting out for a pee, I always take a couple of small black bags, made for the job. I'm sure some people have no shame these days. ;) ;)

think this is a big problem everywhere, the council in my area and others close by have even got rid of the dog wardens.

a few months ago someone in 1 part of town was highlighting the dog dirt by putting little fags on them.within a week the lot was cleared up.

even in the near by parks/forests you find the local poo tree, that for some unknown reason peeps have taken the time to pick up after there dogs and then HANG the contents from a tree.

This is also started to be a problem where I live... I thought it was just me but the last 12-24 months it has got really bad... it all must be to council cutbacks.... if I had my way it would be a £1000 fine....dirty bar stewards

Its been terrible here recently, yeah £1000 fine would teach them. Even on the golf course its all over the place! Something needs to be done! Very soon.

Hopefully, with an increase in the number of CCTV systems in public places the likelihood of identifying these filthy people will become greater.

Although I agree with a £1000 fine for this anti-social behaviour, I think it would be more effective if they were also publicly named and shamed. It would be even nicer if this resulted in people who were offended by their behaviour taking the trouble to post something equally nasty through their letterboxes.

And that reminds me about the fly on the dog poo.

Another fly came along later, and the first fly said, "Hello Bert, I haven't seen you here for a while."

To which Bert replies, "No, I've been on the sick."

I must be lucky. Havn't seen dogs doo in my area for years.

Worst part is when a customers back garden is full of dog waste and you've got to tip toe around it every time you move ladders.

Stangely I've found the opposite.I live on a council estate and it's the norm to see people picking up after their dogs. (Something you never saw 20 years ago)
There are some ar**holes that don't of course, but they don't let the dogs do it when anyone's watching, because they know they're likely to get a mouthful or reported.

General litter is another matter...round the shops it looks like a fly tip...the shopkeeper there told me it's not his rubbish 'cos it now belongs to the public. He likes the profit but not the responsibility.

Councils round here will take action against the business if it's customers are making a mess. Either the shopkeepers tidy it up themselves or provide more bins / reduce packaging, or they can lose their trading licence.

I think that if shopkeepers provide adequate waste bins they have done all that can be expected to avoid littering.

Yobs litter, even when bins are provided. I've seen it many times. How can the shopkeeper be held responsible for these irresponsible people's activities? And exactly how far away from the shop does it become the yob's responsibility rather than the shopkeeper's?

Again, CCTV might provide a solution - provided it is supported by adequate sentencing rather than the ubiquitous 'caution' or 'verbal warning'.

How correct.. I have eat at mcdoogals a few times but sat in the car park and although there are plenty of bins supplied the lazy dirty bar stewards just throw it on the floor.........we have not really got a major litter problem but since the gym opened up about a mile away we tend to get a lot of plastic drinks bottles... again bins supplied but not used..to me heavy fines is the answer
