Now do you really believe that Noseall. Germany bankrolls the European Central Bank, and without that, the Euro would collapse, so they'll have a lot of say (allbeit behid the scenes) in many of the EUs decision. The idea that there's any real control or decisions made by the smaller countries, is just wishful thinking I'm afraid.

Mrs Merkel seems to be on a bit of a sticky wicket at the moment, her vote is down 10%from the last time around and the second biggest party the SPD are going into opposition instead of coalition, so she needs to look around for partners to prop up her minority government, I suppose if she really gets stuck for support she could always contact the DUP to see if they are available.
What I find strange is that she genuinely seems puzzled as to why so many Germans voted for the AFD , maybe someone should tell the dozy cow that letting in 1 million immigrants wasn't a very good idea.
