I'll not lower myself to engaging in a slanging match, after all the purpose of forums is to allow people to freely express their opinions. Finally I will state that I don't like foreigners & can remember the days when folks born & bred in this country could say such things openly, without being castigated for the remark.

I don't begrudge the tax and NI I pay to help people like moaning pete and moaning durham. But I do object to them pointing the finger at people in greater need.

I feel no guilt whatsoever when I draw my state pension & as for returning to paid employment I'm happy that I've done my bit (during my last redundancy I did voluntary work until re-employed) & now a certain sector of society can get off their backsides & do theirs.

To be fair and accurate, it's not really debt; they just have to pay a little bit more "tax" when they are earning over a certain figure,

The stupid thing is that at current (non) repayment rates it's cheaper for the taxpayer to remove tuition fees altogether.
