Chinese plug?

However I am more concerned that a 78 year old disabled pensioner has been abandoned by social services and there is no one to help. In Wales the social services where able to arrange free of charge for my mother's door bell to be fixed, a new low kitchen installed for wheel chair use, a stair lift, an over head winch and many more items, all in her own house. So to have no one who can fit a new plug there is clearly something wrong with Surrey social services, and some one needs to give them a kick.

I did ask our local District Council for any assistance with moving my freezer just inside the back door to the outside as they only collect from outside.

They replied that they do have a special Handyman Service for OAPs and disabled at £28.50 plus VAT per hour (£13.00 for every ½ hour thereafter) if not on benefits and if on benefits £19.60 per hour plus VAT.

In the case of moving the freezer through the outside door they said they would first need to do a survey.

There are plugs with flat pins, plugs where body is flat, so as it stands we have no idea what the plug is, clearly the supplier either does not know UK law or does not care about UK law or it would be supplied with UK plug.

So all we know is 20W 220V 2 pin and GB4706 1-2005 means the seller has bought the book in Chinese telling them the rules for export. Seems either book wrong or they have not read it.

If bought from internet easy option is include link to item bought.

It was bought from eBay but was a present so I don't have access to it

I see what you mean, the description above does not seem to go with picture below.

The multi socket shown would take both USA and European plugs, but so will most shaver adaptors. So one of these should do,
shopping
it uses less than 1 amp so no problem.

You have 3 options:

1/. Send it back as unsuitable, wrong voltage wrong plug.
2/. Get the adapter shown by Ericmark from TLC.
3/. Get someone to cut off and change the plug to a UK one.

2) For clarification the adapter was from Tool Station, not TLC.

Seems a reasonable compromise.

It seems a shame that getting help is so hard. If you lived nearer, I would have willingly dropped round and changed the plug.

That's very thoughtful of you thank you.

The nearest place to me is Croydon. There are several things against it. Nobody will come out here for small jobs. There's no public transport there and there's an awful lot of cowboys there.

Thanks for help
