Chinese plug?

It doesn't work!!

The prongs won't go in.

What to do now?
Sorry to hear that James.
The reason the Pifco one was recommended as its a better brand, as pointed out earlier the others on the amazon page look similar but are of dubious manufacturer, they likely never claimed to be Pifco so all appears above board, though from what your saying it may be doubtful that the Pifco one will fit, reading some of the reviews for the dubious ones it seems the plugs can be a bit hard to insert and maybe you just need to push a little harder

Can you just be honest with the person that brought you it, maybe they can help, this present just seems to be causing you distress which you dont need.
Not to sound too harsh but its sometimes best to avoid some imported Mains power electrical stuff when a similar Uk product is made .

My best guess, having seen it before, is that the adapter socket is just a bit stiff. It probably needs a *really* good push.

I think you should try contacting the organisation mentioned above and see if they can offer you some help.

Though i wonder if they would legally be able to do it these days,
Theres an article in PE magazine where Seaward supplied a free tester and Pat testing course to a similar charity to allow them to do such tasks

Thanks and a good push did it and it works well and not too hot. It seems to be a really good quality adapter

Thanks for help

The only thing is I see it has a 13 amp fuse and I think someone said it should be 2 amp?
