Why do a lot of coloured people born in England refer to themselves as Black Britons rather than Black English.
...because they are.

Is it because the term British is perceived as a national identity which is inclusive of those of different racial origins
No. It is because they are British.

whereas the term "English" relates to an ethnic identity which comprises of a specific set characteristics and values.
I think it is merely geographic.
I do not think there is an English ethnic identity. The English have various origins.

By definition an ethnic identity cannot accommodate foreigners.
I am not sure how you are using the word 'foreigner'. Accurately or discriminatory?

Ethnic identities usually include race myths about shared ancestry and values which are unique to the tribe.
Exactly. There are several tribes which made up England.

I heard on the radio today that CV is killing more Bangladeshis Indian and black people in relation the white population.. Yet there are very little deaths in comparison in India and Bangladesh. ... Which I think backs up that I think it's diet.
I don't think there is any story other than the beeb trying to find a race angle.

From the figures released today
https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopula...cgroupenglandandwales/2march2020to10april2020
we can see that non white deaths account for 16.4%

From the 2011 Census
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demography_of_England#Ethnicity
we can see that the non white population was 14.6%

They're very similar numbers!

Now bear in mind the census was 9 years ago, think of how much inward immigration we have had in that period (another 2 million ?) Also the birth rate and which communities are having the most children and then consider how many people that are here who should not be.

The non white population figure could easily be as high as that 16.4% figure. And if it is, then arguably the virus is affecting us all equally.

And then when you consider the hardest hit area's such as London where the non white population is about 55%, then may be it is white people who are being the hardest hit.

Higher death rates could be due to higher population density in England.
Don't sparsely populated parts of Northern Scotland have lower death rates per capita than the Cities.

From the first link:

"When taking into account age in the analysis, Black males are 4.2 times more likely to die from a COVID-19-related death and Black females are 4.3 times more likely than White ethnicity males and females."

Surely something doesn't add up.

Has anyone factored in social class when it comes to death rates.

They want to do their own study on the ethic aspects. It has been done and based on age and what could be called poverty aspects / living conditions etc. Comes up with 2x deaths in one case and 1.5x in another - numbers from memory. They are higher just based on age.
