When Did it All Start To Go Wrong?

It was clearly meant as a joke.
Lighten up.
I've seen worse posted here without people getting a stick up their ass...or are people looking for a reason to be offended?

The problem comes when you look at who he has to form a government with. One Lawyer a woman without any GCSEs and another who can't add up doesn't make a government
Your cognitive bias is showing.

Both parties have a mixture of talent and idiots…..certainly loads of 2019 Tory intake are the latter.

Labour have a perfectly capable team.

I would also say WW2.

Brits had the attitude that they were better than Johnny Foreigner .
They went on to produce the "BL Cars Marina", and the Rolls Royce nice wedding car.

Germans knew they had to drag their blood soaked arses out of the gutter and do some work.
They went on to produce the VW Golf, Beamers and Mercs. Which they exported in tens of millions.
WW2 causing the UK serious problems is a fact. It alos made the USA rich, They are doing well now aren't they.

Your problem though is why was BL reduced to that. Also why various car companies were merged.

I worked for an Original Equipment Manufacturer. An OEM. They supply parts directly to a car manufacturer. No chance of exporting to europe as they have their own OEM's and wont buy off others. Then ask yourself why this OEM started to look at making replacement parts for foreign cars long before there were many about. They were relatively rare.

LOL I explained the thoughts that were going on in a previous post That's part of it. BL - strapped for cash. In Japan money war poured in by banks. An example.

I don't know when it went wrong but if you have ever been to Germany and then visit England the question arises,
Who won the war?
I was led to believe we won but I'm not convinced

When it comes to so-called rank and file politicians, I don't doubt many of them are there for the right reasons, working hard for their constituency and so on. When it comes to politicians that want to climb the proverbial greasy pole to the top, that's a different story. The very traits that make people want to become leaders often means they are focused on different things in their quest to reach the top.

The thing is though, even as I type the above, I'm left thinking 'what's the alternative?' If we rebuilt our political system from the ground up, what exactly should we create that the masses would deem more balanced and fair? Maybe proportional representation would be a good start?

I've said it previously in other threads, I'm relatively confident we'll eventually be the masters of our own downfall. If humankind was wiped out bar one man and one woman who then conceived and started to build the population from scratch, we'd eventually end up in the same mess. Why? Because we need structure as a society. And whenever you need structure, you need people to lead in at least some capacity. Pure collective responsibility can only work to a certain scale. And once you introduce the concept of managers and leaders, the old traits of power, greed, corruption etc raise their heads.

In summary, it's probably always been a cluster f*** of a sh1tshow to varying degrees ... and it'll continue in that manner. If anyone thinks otherwise, they're deluded.

PR would be a good start, but until the reasons for this system are clearly laid before the electorate there's little chance of that becoming adopted in this country. FPTP suits the Tories. And they've 'arranged' the constituencies to suit this system.

There's a good number of hard working MPs who don't seek the limelight and enjoy the nuts and bolts of management; like Yvette Cooper, for instance. It's people like de Piffle who suck up all the oxygen and dominate the news who get attention to become elected that're the problem.

If society was not patriarchal we would not be in this mess.
As the saying goes 'this is a man's world"

The news is dominated by those who support the narrative.
Opposition is not tolerated
