To hide their lack of evidence/lack of a case and general incompetence. That said, the evidence to the hearing should surely be in public, as I think it was in the post office and Greenfell cases.
The CPS are probably up with telling the NCA to come back with proper evidence.

Back to the original thread, it must worry a lot of MEPs that she was basically done for faking expenses. That said I admire the French for taking out a fascist politician from a hollocast denying dynasty posing as a reformed far righter.
Despite what the voters vote for. Big brother knows best.
Voting for fascism is the opposite of democracy. Its how Hittler wormed his way into power, and how Trumpf is plotting a third term.
Its called the fifth republic. France is rightly wary of autocracy given its recent past
Jeopardising ones eligibility is optional.
It's worrying to me because it's hard on the heels of the Romanian election result being overturned because of 'interference', ie, some posts on facebook.
As for whatsername, the charge sheet against her doesn't look too bad if you compare it to Donald's.
Look, I'm not best pleased that Labour got in based on a manifesto of lies, but they did and I accept the result, and I'm stuck with them for 4 or 5 years, maybe they'll turn things around maybe not.
Perhaps one day 'we' won't bother with 'legal' ways of deposing any opposition, just chuck em out of a window like Putin does.

It was embezzlement and running a scam which fraudulently obtained millions of pounds of euro funding. Do you think the courts just made up the charges, or they didn't but she just deserved a slap on the wrist?
Donald had $billions and a whole legal, judicual and political machine, fighting in his favour.
I'm not convinced of her guilt either, and maybe the appeals process will remove any doubt.
Bit silly of her to chuck it all away for greed.
What do you think about a third term?
Bending the rules sounds like a slippery slope to me.
