Woman and Sex, means biological sex.

I'm open to alternatives, but not at birth.
If you do not accept that some do not fit into the binary concept of male or female, then you are not open to alternatives despite your claim to do so.

As people grow up I fully accept that questions may arise, and I don't think it's a mental illness. I support everyone's rights to be who they want to be, within the law of course.
As people grow up and realise their recorded sex at birth was incorrect gives rise to the problems and such discussions as this one.

Incorrectly assigned!!! Lol, are you for real?
You think that's not possible?
Then why does the Government recognise GRCs?
Why are there over 262,000 transgenders on the 2021 Census.

Still higher than yours. Especially when you think trans people believe they are incorrectly 'assigned' at birth!
The Government recognise that mistakes occur, hence the GRCs.
The medical profession recognise mistakes occur, hence the genital correction surgery.

But in your esteemed opinion, it doesn't happen.

Got to keep the woke brigade happy!

Its a matter of personal experience of knowing someone who is mentally unstable in their choices regarding their sex......
But you don't believe that mistakes are made at birth. So you will never accept the existence of intersex babies.

So it's pointless trying to discuss it with you because your mind is closed to alternatives.

I don't accept that the sex is determined purely by the sperm, and is pure chance.
I firmly believe that environmental, and socioeconomic factors also have an influence.
This is supported by empirical evidence.

If this theory is extrapolated, it could be argued that the Sex Birth Ratio (SBR) of intersex babies will vary depending on environmental and socioeconomic factors. Thus leading to a change in the transgender population.
But this is irrelevant in this discussion, and probably too far fetched for most.
I'd heard (but forgotten) that environmental/societal stresses result in more girls being born. In situations where the population is under threat, you need more females than males to maintain/restore numbers.

After expert examination.
Are you now claiming that experts never make mistakes?

By testing if need be. I've already posted what they do.
According to some on here, if it looks like a male, they are assigned the sex as male, irrespective of any other tests which may or may not have occurred.
So there is no need for the issue to be discussed with the parents because the medical profession have decided?
Whilst the majority of babies born appear to have characteristics which can be clearly grouped into categories we call ‘male’ or ‘female’, for some babies it is not so clear. The word intersex is simply a descriptor for a person who has natural variation in their sex characteristics (hormones, chromosomes, gonads, or genitals). For some parents it can be confusing and perhaps even frightening to find out their child is intersex. Our society is preoccupied with biological sex and gender and this is particularly true when it comes to having a child.

March 17, 2011— -- Jim Bruce was born with XY male chromosomes but ambiguous genitals. Doctors couldn't be sure if he had a large clitoris or a small penis and were convinced he could never live a "satisfactory life" as a man.
So shortly after his birth in 1976, Bruce's external organ and testes were surgically removed and he was raised as a girl.

'They did not have a word': the parental quest to locate a 'true sex' for their intersex children

and there's lots more out there if you care to look.
But you won't because your ideologically conditioned you to ignore it.

Of course I have, I've said so a few times. I've no doubt that both "nailed on" boys and girls have gone on to have doubts and lead different lives. That doesn't mean everyone should be a third option at birth, just in case.
The birth certificate could be left open, and the sex assigned later in life.
Then the person would not be obliged to be a transgender. Their birth certificate would reflect their chosen gender.

If women had a right to single-sex spaces, it would not be necessary to bring religion into it.
It wasn't me who brought religion into it.

The equality act creates a presumption against gender discrimination but then goes on to allow all sorts of exceptions e.g. a woman of faith who objects to mixed swimming sessions justifies separate sessions.
And women do have a right to single-sex spaces, always have.
