Jack Monroe gave Hopkins months to apologise. She was more than fair.
It doesn't! I have no interest in your discussion with motorbiking.
I was asking a different question. But I am stopping now.
On the 18th of May, they had their Twitter spat. Hopkins had the chance to apologise and end proceedings thereafter.
On the 4th August the offer was rescinded, although Monroe made subsequent pleas for Hopkins to settle in the months leading to the court case.
2.5 months to apologise.
And continued to do so for months. What's your point? It's as if you are saying they went from Twitter spat to court proceedings in 38 minutes, which is not true. There was a period of months where Hopkins could have apologised.
This is utter bollax...

I think it would be hard to believe after all this debate that nosenout wasn’t aware the first request was a take down and it was complied with.

Monroes' offer was not rapidly withdrawn. Nor can you show where it was. In fact the judgement states in paragraph 20, 3 days after the Twitter spat...

The letter requested a correction and apology, an undertaking not to repeat this or similar tweets about Ms Monroe, payment of a “substantial donation” to a charity of Ms Monroe’s choice, and payment of legal costs. The form of correction and apology Ms Monroe wanted was spelled out: “A tweet to be sent at a date and time to be agreed, ‘I was confused about identity. I got it wrong. @MsJackMonroe I’m sorry. I have made a substantial donation to charity at her request.’”
So If the offer to make an apology is still there 3 days after the spat, how can it have been 'rapidly withdrawn'?
Rapidly withdrawn my arse.
Monroe's pleas for an apology to end proceedings ran for months, were sincere and went ignored. There was never an apology from Hopkins.

KH spent a lot of money instead of apologising.
With months (years?) to do it, and probably with stern advice form her own solicitors.
“These proceedings have been a nightmare,” Monroe told the court. “It has been an 18-month, unproductive, devastating nightmare.
“I did not want to be here today. I have offered several times though my lawyer to settle these proceedings outside court. This is the last thing that I wanted to be doing.”

How can a demand for an apology be not sincere
That does not make it an unacceptable demand.
You are victim blaming
Especially when it's protracted and on offer for months.
