I like the idea that if you drive here you must purchase a temporary road tax - "vignette" to cover your contribution to Road tax. There are half a dozen EU countries that make you buy temporary road tax to cover your use of their roads. We should do the same. Or scrap VED altogether and put a few pence on fuel duty to cover it.

Why do they not do that?

Of course it wouldn't charge foreign vehicles if they fuelled up before entering country, it would though fairly charge UK drivers by mileage, but wouldnt catch all electric vehicle and hybrids

They could tax super chargers and EV charge points. But the big savings will be the complete removal of the need to run a VED collections service. my feeling is that it serves some other 'data collection' benefit.

I get hammered on Road tax as I've had anything up to 4 or 5 vehicles but there is only me and the mrs who use them. One of our cars has fairly high Co2, but it does only a few 1000 miles a year.

Who and how has anyone painted themselves into a corner, or been hoisted by their own petard?
Your comment does not make it clear. Or was it meant to be ambiguous?

Just done a search on the Positive Action thread.I am not going to read all 50 pages, but I did notice that on page 49 you were just as confused:
and broosing
PA = segregation.
You seem to have a confused idea of what segregation means:

Are you still boosing (sic)?
What happened to RogueHanger. I have not seen any other posts from him/her?

Edit: I do see that he/she was still posting in late May/June 2014 which kind of makes your observation a bit loopy, as you reckon the Positive Action thread dated 5 May 2014 caused RogueHanger to disappear.
Does anyone know what happened to him/her?

I thought they were legal.

Isn't it just trying to find one that's illegal?

Advertiising sex in any form is illegal. That's why there are so many escorts - you can advertise companionship, even say what the companions like to do in their private lives, but just not sell sex. What an escort and client decide to do after experiencing a little companionship is a private matter. Some people only need 10 seconds of companionship before falling madly in love, donchaknow?

The car tax in Australia covers the car for third party insurance for whom ever drives it.

If we put tax on everything we buy and scrap the 20% income tax we pay on earnings will deal with the black market workforce

the black market workforce will just become the the black market importers of cheaper goods.

Its all fairly well defined in here:
https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/prostitution-and-exploitation-prostitution

You can advertise for sex.. as long as its not for money and and plenty of prostitutes operate legally within a flat or even camper van. Its only an issue when there is more than one working there.

There have been some interesting debates about membership services giving access to 'free' sex. Its a virtual brothel by any other name, but also pretty much what all the less classy dating apps do.

When it comes to immoral earnings, a lot of PIs get a lot of divorce clients by trapping naughty boys on dating sites - everyone take note :D

How would you do that if you were a labourer from scunthorpe working for a builder buying grapes in your lunch hour
