Would you like me to explain it to you again?

I am quite happy to do so, since it appears you are struggling to understand the concept.

Would you mind explaining in more detail the part you are finding hard, I can then answer in more specific terms for you.
The waffle waffle emoji is not due out until next year, so I will have to make do with this one:
o_O

What was your argument, your case, in brief?

"The most pernicious mantra is that these garments are always a choice" ;)

Ziauddin Sardar said " In total perversion of Qur'anic advice , dressing modestly has been interpreted as dressing like a nun , covered in from head to foot , showing only a womans face , or eyes , writs and feet " Females then accept the burden of modesty while men do not , though they have that obligation "

Millions of muslim woman do not "submit" to these "pressures" . One of them a senior TV producer , un-loaded her frustration in an email

"We came here to get away from these "oppressive" expectations . The UK offered hope , a place where u were protected by the law , could be "educated"
, "go out" be "free" You could make your own decisions , strive to be "equal" to men. Now this "freedom" is crumbling away because of a few shouty veiled woman . "our voice remains un-heard .

Yasmin Alibhai Brown did say "no serious research has been carried out on wether woman freely choose to wear the veil.

(Although I must admit R bee appears to have some specialist knowledge on the subject , dunno how & one should not speculate :sneaky:;))

Yasmin Brown wrote a book " refusing the veil" she said that some woman freely choose to wear the veil , but in her research she states that there are many other reasons

Some have been forced
Some were expressing political defiance
some are covering up self harm
some are covering up domestic abuse

Very interesting!

Many Muslims worldwide either support or adopt religious veiling, and those who argue against it are often criticised, or worse. But, according to Yasmin Alibhai-Brown, the veil throws up a number of concerns, from questions of health and freedom of choice to issues of gender and personal identity. She argues that veiling conceals abuse, propagates eating disorders and restricts access to sunlight and exercise. It is imposed on babies and young girls, allows women to be shamed for not covering up, and has become associated with extremist factions. It demonises men, oppresses feminism and presents obstacles to performance and success. It even encourages racism, distorts Muslim values and strips women of autonomy and individuality. Written from a unique perspective and packed with personal experiences as well as public examples, Yasmin addresses the ultimate question of why Muslim women everywhere should refuse the veil

Extract from book

'Refusing the Veil', "Islam has been distorted, corrupted and sullied by male theologians, chauvinist leaders and fake fakirs … I truly, deeply and keenly believe the veil, in all its permutations, is indefensible and unacceptable." These two sentences provide a flavour of what is to come. There is no mincing of words in this deeply troubling little book, nor any pulling of punches. Alibhai-Brown provides a well reasoned and systematic dismantling of the many arguments that are put forward by those who seek to defend the wearing of the veil - what Alibhai-Brown describes as this "mournful shroud", "the Taliban-approved kit", "this sexist garb" and "this obvious symbol of oppression".

Refusing the Veil is not, however, just about the evils of the veil but is, even more importantly, concerned with those underlying pernicious, coercive and isolating influences that, she argues, are leading to the increasing oppression and degradation of Muslim women

Notice that distinct lack of a link to his source so we cannot check a**e end's accuracy of his representation:
Some have been forced %? Not supplied!
Some were expressing political defiance %? Not supplied!
some are covering up self harm %? Not supplied!
some are covering up domestic abuse %? Not supplied!
those that choose to wear the veil - oops forgot that one! Maybe the majority, but we will never know from this political commentator, (or a**e end's representation of the comment) who conveniently forgot that option!

Now how did a**e end introduce the article (what article?)?
"Yasmin Alibhai Brown did say "no serious research has been carried out"
And how did he conclude his representation of the article (what article?)?
"in her research" :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:
Sucker punch!

What a **** a**e end is. He manages to destroy his own argument in the very same comment!:LOL::LOL::LOL::LOL:
