London cyclists dropping like flies

And?

That "if", btw, is a big word. "If" cyclists only own one mode of transport...

Driving into Portsmouth the other morning I noticed the lovely cycle lane which runs alongside the Eastern Rd for a mile or more. It's up off the road
split 50/50 with the footpath, bout 10 foot wide in total. Strangely the traffic is still held up by wannabe tour de france types in tights who insist on cycling in the road. Those deserve all they get.

I can't imagine why cyclists choose not to use paths where they have no right of way at junctions, are shared by pedestrians, and may be adjacent to driveways.

Really can't understand it?

I can it's obvious. In this instance though there are no driveways, the cycle lane alone is about 5 feet wide and there are no junctions. There is no reason to cycle in the road.

You Idiot.

Every vehicle on the road is payed for seperately regardless of how many are owned by one person. Those funds contribute to the infrastructure of the road network.

Cyclists pay F*ck all for that individual vehicle, and if a cycle was their only vehicle they would pay F*ck all towards cycle lanes.

****ing poor people, who do they think they are using hospital services, THEY didnt pay for them, **** of and die you scrounging scrotes, what's that you little orphaned ****e, you want an education, and why should you, have you PAID for it, sod of to a workhouse then.

You want a road, to where? to your stinking little village of poor people, go away, it will cost far more to build that road than what you poor people in your little village pay, what next, you'll be asking for water and electricity, why can't these poor villagers understand they don't pay enough tax to cover their services, bloody leaches, AND they have the nerve to write to us by letter to complain, DON'T THEY KNOW WE SUBSIDIZE THEIR MAIL, did they really think a letter could be sent from the back end of a village in devon to london for that price! Pensions, you want a pension, sod off, you didnt pay for it, go die in a gutter you stinking old granny.

And don't get me started on those ruddy northerners, being subsidised by us hard working southerners, lot of bloody dole bungers the lot of them, I say cut the benefits tot he north, tell them to just accept the north is a lost cause and all those ex mining towns should just hurry up and die, no we won't pay to re-invigorate them.

Honestly LMB, your a bloody ****.

All roads are paid for out of general taxation, just like all other services, so what if you pay fuel tax, or VEHICLE tax, you also pay tax on your house, on your savings, on the fuel to heat your house, you pay tax on effing chocolate, does that mean only chocolate eaters should get dental treatment.

The argument "I pay my tax", is nothing more than "GOT MINE, **** YOU".

You pay your tax, and that money is used to pay for SOCIETY, not you.

Bloody ME ME ME generation.

Give me the road name/postcode.

EDIT

I looked up eastern road in portsmouth.

Yes there is a cycle lane.

It has ****ing lampposts in the middle of it, a bus stop, and both ends end in a junction where you have no right of way.

I seriously hope you meant another eastern road.

Otherwise you look like a right plonker.

B*llocks. The only people who want cycle lanes are cyclists.

Why aren't cyclists paying to be on the highway, like every other road user anyway????

I tell you what..... Let's do it your way, let's have not one bean of cost for ANYONE using the highway and share the lost revenue figure amongst everybody using the roads or not.

Nice one.

Not very bright are you.

No one pays for the roads.

You pay tax, on various things, as stated above (which you ignore, cus you know you have no counter argument).

The entire public sector is set up to provide services this way, and your an idiot for not even understanding how your own countries services are run.

Benifits, housings, healthcare, education, roads, water, electricty, none of these things are provided based on how much you pay, but on what you or what society needs.

If we paid for things in your idiotic manner then we would have millions of people living in social housing on the streets (cus they certainly don't pay for it), millions dying through desease or illness (because millions don't pay nearly enough tax to cover their healthcare), millions of older people, mainly women, without pensions (because again, they don't pay anywhere near enough to cover their expenses).

You are a complete **** who thinks cus you pay fuel tax, you get roads.

For all you know a cyclist I saw riding his £1500 pound carbon fibre bike, pays twice as much tax as you do.

So does that mean he should get the road to himself, after all, he's paying more towards it than YOU are.

Now, do stop making yourself look like such an ignoramus.

Its the A2030. The lamp posts are not in the middle of it. There are provisions for cycles if they need to cross. It's mainly dual carriageway, as is the section I was referring to, buses don't stop on it. Take another look or maybe try specsavers. Failing that drive up and down the road a few times a week to get a real feel.
On the otherhand carry on spouting ****** about things you have no real knowledge of. It brightens up the commercial breaks on corrie.

F*ck me... People, lamposts, Are you sure the surface isn't to hard for your freeloading tyres  Lets have it carpeted.

Oh look, the monkey has managed to bash his fists on the keyboard in an attempt to communicate.

What about the thousands upon thousands of miles of road in the UK linking poor villages and small towns together, should the residents not be able to use their own roads, they clearly don't pay anywhere near enough for them.

Throw out all those people living in council housing?

Refuse treatment to anyone on the NHS that hasn't paid more tax than the cost of their treatment?

I could go on, but your poor little monkey fists might start bleeding if you keep mashing the keyboard.

Well lets see, mr "you should go to specsavers".

There is a cycle lane that intersects with anchorage road that is a shared footpath (not very usefull), and at the junction you have no right of way (even less use then).

There is another cycle path near ebery grove, which is the first one I described.

Infact you can even see people walking on the "cycle" path in the street view pictures)

Just for that I will award myself another point

Aron.

Two people. Both earn the same money, both pay the same tax.

However, one is a motorist and one is a cyclist.

The motorist pays annual fees to use the road, the cyclist doesn't.

Let alone licencing, Safety checks (MOT), Insurance, competence testing, Why haven't they got that.???? Why don't they pay for that????

PMSL Clearly you do have to cross a road to cross a road. Yes I guess some people may walk on the cycle path. Best cycle in the road next to an arctic then eh. 3-0. You are delusional mate. Get a life.

Well if they both pay the same amount of tax, maybe the car driver can have use of the roads, and the cyclist can have use of the hospitals.

Seems fair?

Why, WHY??????

Well????? the reason is?????? oh, let's stop with the excessive ????? or I'll never type anything.

As i've said, you pay tax, you get your services, you don't pay chocolate tax for dentistry treatment, you don't pay stamp duty for housing benefits, you don't get refused treatment if you havent paid enough tax.

I've yet to hear your rebuttal to this, other than your inane keyboard bashes, maybe you should stop picking your nose as well, I think your sticky fingers keep making the ????????? key get stuck.
