Indeed it is already a problem for some, many pacific islands are only 1 or 2 meters above sea level (and for reasons I don't entirely understand) the sea levels are rising faster here. However populations are tiny, and sadly for the people who live there, this will not be a global concern.

Sea level rise is expected to be very slow, currently rising by about 4mm per year. Scientific data suggests if global temperatures rise by no more than 2 degrees the sea could rise by about 2 meters in the next 1000 years. I'm sure many of the worlds greatest cities such as London will build bigger and bigger sea defences and exist slightly below sea level (such as amsterdam does now) but at some point London will have to be relocated.
