Memory Loss

whatever the reasons we are there the sad truth is, as the media is now starting to report, they are overstretched and under equipped. The government is now allegedly covering up the casualty figures.

Considering military history is taught during officer training at sandhurst, im amazed by comments coming from the top level commanders about how they underestimated the scale of the task. Do they not look at their history and learn no lessons. Looks like our boys are paying for the lessons in lives and blood, despite the hard job they are doing.

All they had to do is ask the Russians. They used to call it the Russian Vietnam.

I tend to agree with you Thermo. When the Russians invaded they used a lot more military might but in the end they pulled out after suffering heavy losses.

So I really can't understand why our boys (and most of them are only boys) are still there. There are not enough of them to make a difference so they are just becoming cannon fodder.

It's a sad day when a political party uses young men’s lives to further their own objectives.

They make the policies and everyone else pays the price.
