most expensive thing you own which isnt a house or a car?

My health or rather lack of it. Over the years it hasn’t really cost me much, particularly now that my prescriptions are free, but I would imagine has cost the NHS much more than the cost of our house and cars put together. And with 3 heart procedures, a tumour removal, treatment for osteophytes and now facing a minor paralysis problem the cost is mounting. I’m not moaning, just explaining why my lack of health has been the most expensive outlay albeit by the NHS.

Sailing boats 10-12k per year plus the purchase cost.
and the ex wife is proving to be rather expensive

I have a couple of Omegas so I suppose my male jewellery would count. Oddly enough, I have those insured but not my workshop.

This got me thinking, I don't actually own anything (outside of property) that's worth much in monetary terms. So it would probably be the tech I have (PC, smart phone) but other than that, nowt.

I sold my '78 'sud in '86 and went into House of Fraser in Manchester and blew most of it on a Sanyo tower system.

I don't think anything we own at the moment apart from the house is worth more than a few hundred quid.

But of course, hundreds, if not 1000s are poured into maintenance and improvement of both cars and houses. In the case of cars, you rarely get it back on resale. In the case of houses, you'd be unlucky not to make a gain. However, unless you're downsizing or buying in a cheaper market, it's all relative when you are buying in the same market.

Probably my mobile phone. You forget how expensive they are.
