    alcoholism is a terrible thing

That apart, any single mother with two tiny twins and a toddler is likely to be exhausted and might fall asleep at any time. Having sole care for babies is a huge responsibility.

Thank gods there are sometimes fathers and families to share the burden.

Hand outs from hard working taxpayers makes it easy for young women to live life like this.
Half a dozen babies, stuff them in a few drawers and live off a grand a week on the social.

Its no wonder ordinary working people are being hammered by taxes.

I feel sad more than angry.

No excuses though. Don't have 'em.

There's nothing easy about looking after three babies on your own, this is such a terrible tragedy.

    very sad.

I have 3 kids, when they were that young I would never have drunk while there was no one else to care for them, certainly not a strong cats pee drink (lager).

I suspect now she never will either.

All my life I've been staunchly in favour of people taking responsibility for their actions.

In this particular case, that belief is up in the air.

Sadly all I can do is picture the scene. A neglected, bored, little tot, taking the babies to give them a wash in the bath.

    Sad beyond words.

It's the mother who was responsible. The kid acted for the best intentions.

Sadly, incompetent parenting is not exactly uncommon in this country.

Of course she was, indirectly, but she didn't drown the babies.

    Or did she???

its extremely sad so not sure why any one would try and have a go or try to demonise single mothers is beyond me
if she is an alcoholic 3 pints off strong lager would have minimal effect unless it was consumed in a very short term off say less than 90-120 mins
we simply don't know as they don't say

i am really really pleased that the critical ones on here are so law abiding and squeaky clean that they own the moral high ground they choose to stand on

i am glad i have made mistakes so realize i am human unlike others who think they are superior for some strange reason
if the moral police looked at my life i would probably get a warning
i suspect the ones with high and mighty attitudes may have more to fear:cool:
