Not!

All those who voted Brexit in the belief that they are taking back control are being screwed over. We're taking control of the flotsam that's being pushed this way by the French. The party of immigration control is welcoming them in by the back door. Sinister!

Yeah but what on earth has that got to do with brexit, which probably wont happen now anyway. The euros were pushing their unwanted refugees this way long before brexit or did that go over the top of your head.

Would that be our good old European partners, the French? Nice partner to have, we should’ve stuck with them.

Nice to see that you are not always anti-foreigner.

I'm not digging at Englishmen. I'm complimenting Mottie.

I think he got me wrong. With partners like the French, who needs enemies!

What it's got to do with Brexit is that the government sold the lie that Brexit was about taking back control. Maybe it will control EU immigration. However, the government, obviously in colusion with The French, have a covert operation to ship in other economic migrants from outside The EU. So much for taking back control. That's the Brexit connection. Government claiming to give back control and be reducing immigration while doing the exact opposite. That the French warship has a one mile exclusion zone around it while they do the dirty deed says it all. Hope this isn't over your head.

P.S. Using the RNLI to assist the government in their subterfuge is a shameful misuse of the brave men who man the lifeboats and the British public who fund it through charitable donations.

What are we meant to do if we pick up Migrants in the Channel.

We have no choice but to bring them in then they claim asylum.

But this isn't just a case of us finding migrants in The Channel. It's obviously an organised transfer from The French Navy to our authorities. We do have a choice. We can take them back to France where they can claim asylum. Australia is an island and they tackled the problem. We can do the same, but there is obviously a plan to keep immigration flowing wherever it originates from. How many times have we heard our politicians promise to reduce numbers - numbers that then increase instead. Totally dishonest.

145.1 million people arrive in the UK every year, many on short tourist visa - many stay.

There were 3.1 million visas granted in the year ending September 2019, a 9% increase compared with the previous year, continuing the upward trend seen over the last decade. Of these, over three-quarters (76%) were to visit, 9% were to study (excluding short-term study), 6% were to work and 2% were for family reasons.

In the latest year, there were notable increases in Visitor visas granted to:

  • Chinese nationals, up 75,554 (13%) to 636,547
  • Indian nationals, up 43,755 (9%) to 512,681
  • Nigerian nationals, up 16,221 (24%) to 82,780
Chinese and Indian nationals together accounted for just under half (48%) of all Visitor visas granted.

linky

Why is everyone so focused on a relatively few people in inflatable dinghies? Ah, fallen for the political smokescreen again, that's it. Focus on the tiny minority so people ignore the bigger issue - the issue that the government promised it would tackle, but totally failed to do so.

No doubt the tories will soon announce an amazing success in reducing foreign immigration, just before flights resume.

Politics, innit.

Australia is actually a continent... But hey hey.

They get more asylum claims and overstayers come through the airports other than by boat...
