We need to leave now.

Another question, Festive:

If, as you seem to agree, 75% of MPs think it would be (very) bad for the UK to leave the EU, what do you think they should do?

Just answer the question as written; ignore the fact that you happen to disagree.

disagreed with the public result as they were easily a majority of remainers so acted against democracy. Claiming they were doing it in the name of democracy
Not in the name of democracy, simply democracy Old Bean....Im so sorry it has upset you

The court case was to find out if 5 week prorogation was not legal.
And it was not.

Isnt it funny how leavers complain the UK courts have lost power to the EU, yet complain at the same time they are too powerful.

Poor old Festive is in a right tizzy over it -as it makes his argument null and void

The supreme court will overrule

Festive is preying the supreme court will overrule

The reason for the ruling today was because no government minister could or would sign a witness statement to state prorogation was merely to end parliament.

Can Festive think of a reason why Rees Mogg or the others wouldnt sign to confirm what they said.
Have a good think Old Chap

Hey ELF

Yep from the hip..

Priority A if they really are keen on what is the best for the UK they should be resolving the political stalemate.
Parliament currently has control, the pound and business are In turmoil here not just because of what might happen but what isnt happening.

If I was this side of the house i would now stick my neck out and take control (hah!) and orchestrate an agreed way forward to ensure we focus on a suggested brexit process in the form of the meaningful vote options till a house agreed Brexit agreement that would satisfy the eu and backstop alternative and put this to the government as the only tenable solution.

But this will never work we will only ever leave just as all options failed before because the underlying remain majority dont want us to brexit so will strategically spoil any progress.

Just as an example whatever any current or past government implement such an example extended stay for students the opposition are always always critical of a perceived improvement for the UK they just cant back it no matter what, they must attempt to see the negative or negate it's positive motive. Its indoctrinated into every opposing mp and it stinks.
None of them would last a nanosecond in most successful businesses today.

My point is no matter what Boris brings to the table labour et all will oppose it, it's in their DNA to do so and not for the best of the country.

Emotions are running high here I get it...but lets focus on restoring order. Even if it means an utter Travesty of my personal and many others not forgetting a denial to democracy. Something must change but opposing MPs must stop using this as an extended way to denigrate and take the government to pieces to ensure they the opposition parties (one of them) win the next election by popular opinion first. That's their priority here for them.

Boris wont be backed due to the majority of remain in the house.
=We will only ever be booted out by the EU.

I personally believe the supreme court will go with English high court ruling, there is too much credibility at stake. Either way its wasted time and effort those idiots should be spending on resolving this issue. On this forum here we have idiots cheering it on like an opposing bunch of football hooligans its embarrassing. The world is laughing at us.

Were you satisfied with your answer?

Not voting to implement article 50 might have been a starting point, but they did, 498 to 114 - a majority of 384.
Not voting for Theresa Mays carp BRINO withdrawal agreement, 432 votes to 202.

Remain MP's seem to have thwarted every move that would have effectively kept us in the EU, and the remainers on here have the audacity to say that leavers don't know what they want or what they voted for?

Donnez-moi un break.

Leavers were sold a pack of lies.
3 years and theyve been debunked.
So Leavers did not know what they voted for and they still dont.

The Tory government are cynically pitting themselves as people versus parliament.
Thats despite the fact the Tory government only care about the Tory government.

Oh and they care about their hedge fund manager mates due to make a packet out of no deal fiasco.

Torys are getting leavers to vote against their own interests.
No deal means Rees Mogg much richer, average man in the street much poorer.

It is the remainers who seem confused about they want.
The Lib Dums have the audacity to say that if they get the chance they will cancel Brexit altogether despite 17.4 million people voting to leave the EU.
Labour doesn't doesn't know where it is going on Brexit, Corbyn wants to negotiate a deal with the EU and then ask his members to vote against it in a referendum.
Tom Watson just wants to remain and as a concession to leavers he would offer a rigged "people's vote ".

17.4 million people voted to leave the EU , the Lib Dems say they want to cancel brexit and Labour doesn't know what it wants.
But if they are elected, then that too is the 'will of the people'...

Or do you still not understand the concept of a 'parliamentary democracy'?

Well then why don't they call an election and let the public decide.
The next election will be about Brexit, if the people decide to re- elect a majority of remainer MPs then the public will get what they voted for.

And about the same number didn't.

So we should be half-in and half out?

The shambles on the horizon today is quite different from what the lying anti-Europeans promised

So you want to plunge into the fire and drag the rest of us with you.
I've told you before, that building is not a pub. You are getting more and more senile, but just as boring with the same old sh1t.

Wrong.
For 2 reasons:

A. the leave campaign offered a vision of Brexit that is simply not true and cant be delivered.

B. The binary vote argument does not hold true in parliament. The duty of parliamentary democracy is to represent all electorate.
Also it is the duty of parliament to do the best for the country. Brexit is bad for the country, there are no tangible benefits but lots of proven negatives.
What proven negatives, Brexit hasn't happened yet.
The evidence for a bad brexit today is qualitively no different from the evidence offered by remainers before the 2016 referendum.

Well then why don't they call an election and let the public decide

How many times do Leavers repeat the carp spouted by Johnson.

Are all Leavers puppets?

Let me explain once more: if parliament vote for Johnsons GE request, he will lie and change the date and crash out.

His hedge fund mates will make millions out of no deal.
