Opinion On Legality of Lockdown

As I said before, you must know what certain elements of society are like before you join the police.

If you don't like that sort of job, don't be a police officer.

Simple.

As for

That is my argument. That, whether they like the laws or not, their job is to uphold those laws and only those laws. You can't go making stuff up just because you don't think a member of public should be doing something.

They don't make things up but sometimes the laws are not that clear such as buying essential items so they ...............

A famous one that cropped up recently, context never mentioned as that more or less explains why they wanted to find the truck driver

A spokesman for Derbyshire Police said the woman, who was in her seventies, was "very distressed" by the incident.

The government has shown what it is capable of in an (albeit fake) emergency. When this is over I'd like to see them tackle some of our real problems.

I answer for myself:
The emergency is fake, not the virus.
They've spread panic unnecessarily.
They didn't do this during sars, swine flue and others.
Maybe andy11 meant the same.

We were talking about "excuses".
I gave one.
If people think that living a life means avoiding death, they should sterilise a room, seal it and never leave it.
I personally prefer living in the knowledge that by undertaking activities for my enjoyment I could die today or tomorrow.
Using power tools to build things is a pleasure to me, but I understand the risks and accept them.
Your choice.
If you want to use power tools and risk cutting your fingers off then that is your choice.
What you don't have the right to do is engage in activities which could endanger the lives of others.
The lockdown isn't just about protecting you, it is about controlling the spread of a virus that kills people.

325000 Coronavirus
575,000 swine flu

For example.

Nonsense in your books.
I don't remember anyone in the world going into lockdown for swine flu

How many people have died and will die because the world stopped providing all care for any other condition?
And don't say it's not true.
My friend with cancer has not received any treatment since the lockdown.
He will die anyway, just a bit quicker.
But how many were waiting for tests and surgery and now are dying without knowing?

What do those numbers mean?

Swine flu hasn't killed very many people in comparison (and we aren't yet finished with covid)... and nor were there so many people infected. So not sure what your numbers relate to when it comes to swine flu. Got a link where you got your info please?
