"of 40 000 patients with covid-19 who were admitted to hospital between December 2020 and July 2021 a total of 33 496 (84%) had not been vaccinated"

Nice work JP but your figures are at best 5 and at worst 12 months out of date and are from times when fewer people were vaccinated, so not currently relevant. For Notch's statement to be valid we need to see the figures for when he made the statement.

So, what do you think the effect of even more people being vaccinated would be?

Back to the Yellow Card scheme...Telegraph article here with details of some of the people who have died or been severely injured by the vaccines and the law firm helping them claim money through the Vaccine Damage Payments Scheme (VDPS).

The AstraZeneca vaccine's unlucky few (telegraph.co.uk)

There are details of the lawyer acting for them and of the law firm if Noseall, Notchy and John D want to contact them to call them liars.

Having knowledge of cases like these is necessary for people to decide whether to take the vaccines or not. As is well known I am completely sceptical about covid and its vaccines, but even the most pro-vaccine person, if he is reasonable and honest, must realise that suppressing information about ill-effects of the vaccines is deceitful.

All very well but many of the people who have had those problems are likely to have the same or worse if they catch covid.

The link that has been found to cause these problems is very tentative and complicated. That from the people who are working on it while pointing out that treatment is possible and usually effective and catching covid is far far more likely to have the same and even worse effects.

But by all means carry on with your bleating and some proportion of the people who feel the same as you will probably face the reality one day as there is no particular reason why covid should go away.

This continual mention panic is crazy as well. No one I am aware of is. A more realistic view is that the antivaxers are scared shateless about the remote and it is very remote chance of the vaccines having an adverse effect on them. It smells of bravado as well. Look it up and see what the word means

Bravado ultimately traces to the Old Italian adjective bravo, meaning "courageous" or "wild." Nowadays, the wildness once associated with bravado has been tamed to an overbearing boldness that comes from arrogance or a position of power. Celebrities, political or corporate giants, and the schoolyard bully may all show bravado (though they often turn out to be not so tough after all)

Fearing the act of facing reality is another way of putting - pretend problems do not exist.

So do continue to ignore figures on hospitalisation showing that the vaccines are extremely effective for the majority of people.

Nicely explained, if it might make any difference to whoever you were replying to[1]. None of us are experts in this field, all we can do is listen to and weigh up the best of the advice that the (genuine) experts do offer and trust them to know what's best, plus of course read and thoroughly understand the genuine figures. As the sensible ones know, both point to having the jabs and wearing the masks, until it is confirmed to be safe by the experts in the field, not to need to. I have just taken delivery of a new batch of masks - shame not to make good use of them :)

[1] As I have run out of patience with so many of these anti-vaxxers, I have found it such a waste of effort arguing with them, so I have blocked their noise - for that is all we get from most of them. We all know empty vessels make the most noise.

Andy, it’s not good news for the unvaccinated:

the times 28/11/2021
“Hundreds of intensive care beds that could be used for life-saving surgery are instead occupied by unvaccinated Covid patients, one of NHS England’s top officials has said.

On Friday morning 825 out of 3,480 patients in intensive care beds across England had Covid. Most remained unvaccinated”

The nhs always has an excuse to justify it’s short comings and hold it’s hand out for more money. What was it before covid? Some different cock and bull every year.

Has said what exactly?

Because of the 'virus' or with it?

And what is 'fully vaccinated' supposed to mean?

Two jabs?

Or two jabs with a booster?

And which ones and which combinations?

Apparently now we are being told not to go outside if we think we have a cold!

Jeez I'm considering investing in cotton wool, because so many it appears need wrapping up in it !
