Look on the back of a box of Weetabix Crispy Minis with chocolate chips.

"DIVE IN! Weetabix crispy minis are.........crammed with chocolate chips"

Now, the chocolate content of this cereal is 12%.

The sugars content of the cereal is 21%.

Funny how it is not "crammed with sugar"

I was looking forward to answering as to which cereal was better or worse. :(

I was wondering similar....

Weetabix crispy minis could have hazelnut milk on them :).

Which reminds me, I must get back to making homemade muesli........better than that powdery Alpen stuff

Homemade muesli is easy to make

Ingredients:
Almonds, cashew nuts, pecans, pumkin seeds, sesame seeds

Pinch of sea salt
Castor sugar
Oats

Method:
Part 1
Lightly roast nuts in hot frying pan, when lightly brown put to one side (put pumkins seeds and sesame seeds in near end or will burn). Add pinch of salt.

Part 2
Sprinkle layer of sugar in centre of frying pan
As it starts to melt pour over generous amount of oats
Using wooden spatula, dig the oats into the sugar creating sugary lumps.
Allow oats to toast lightly.

Mix oats n nuts together
Allow to cool.

Takes me about 20mins to make a batch enough to last about 2 weeks.

A young lad at school claimed he ate 3 Shredded wheat, a box of weetabix and a box of Coco pops each morning before school.

It turned out he was a cereal lier.

you have to be so so careful with cereals
some are so laden with added sugars they are the unhealthy option
some actually say things like low fat when they are naturally low fat rather than a reduced fat version
its all marketing and manipulation to to make you think its often something its not

I keep telling my other half to be selective when buying for my girls cereal. But she never listens

Notch, I make my own muesli but I am on a nas diet, so don't add sugar to anything.

Ah good, a fellow muesli maker :ROFLMAO:......shop bought muesli just isnt the same, not a surprise to have quite a few nuts makes it quite expensive.

Its my wifes recipe, we usually have with fruit -blueberries mostly.

Is NAS a no added sugar diet......a quick google returns mostly no added salt diet
