Over the years I have had countless cars, some better than others. I think my all time favorite was a 2.0s Ford Capri. What was your favorite car that gives you. the best memories?

Not being a pedant, but isn't that a Laser?

Alfasud. Just so much fun. And the boxer engine sounded amazing, like a racing car.
I had a 'sud. A green Super 1.3, but it still went like stink. And contrary to other people's experiences, mine wasn't rusty at all, even though it spent nearly all its life in Cornwall. Used to call it the lean green mean machine.

Very fond memories of TGL 478S. Must try and find a picture.

Very odd story. When I was at school in 1977, before my Grandad bought the Alfa, I mail ordered an aluminium 'sud model which I painted purple. After he stopped driving I inherited his and when I sold it on it changed hands and ended up being resprayed purple!

This is a thread of cars I've owned!

I had a Maestro VdP from 1990. D363 RBA.

Funny story, our youngest born 14 years later has the same initials (RBA) and it was a complete coincidence. Well, the last initial wasn't!

Leather seats used to cook your thighs in the summer if you wore shorts, though...

A memorable occasion in that motor was the only time I'd ever run someone over but it totally wasn't my fault.

An 11 yo kid was waiting on a corner to cross. He was looking the other way to the direction I was coming and ran out without looking my way once.

I saw him and hit the anchors hard (no ABS, remember) but kept a nice straight line (dry road) and by the time he struck me I was only doing a few miles an hour. He lost his stride but carried on across the road and sat on the grass outside his house. His Mum came out the house. "How many effing times have I told you about the effing green cross code you effing idiot?" Or something like that ...

Literally 30 seconds later, a cop turned up. He was sound. He said that he could smell that I hadn't been drinking and could see from the length of the skid marks that I wasn't speeding and gave me every sympathy and said good luck with the insurance company.

The Maestro suffered a broken offside headlight but that was it. My insurance company told me the boy had until the age of majority to decide if he wanted to make a claim against me and until then (10 years in the future), they would suspend my NCD..... That was tough.

When I got home, I rang the hospital to ask how the lad was. A nurse told me he was fine, "no thanks to you!"

If only she knew that it was his fault he got injured and it was thanks to me that injury was lessened.

Edited to add reg.
