The problem is now is that everyone has got contempt for what they say, and where-as the situation a few days ago was have Christmas but take care around granny, which folk thought sounded sensible, most are now thinking "Sod it, I've had enough of it all"
Its not like lockdowns have much more than an minor effect anyway.... viruses spread until a certain minimum percentage of susceptible is reached and then the outbreak shrinks and its all subject to seasonsonality as well. Most of us won't suffer too bad with the virus, its the older folk that will, thankfully normally, they are at much lower risk of catching it.... they don't tend to go to night clubs, and the like, etc. Its alright saying lockdown to protect the older generation, but that simply narrows the gap a little in how likely people are too spread it, the older folk arnt affected much, the supermarket is still open, DIY stores, etc. The younger folk are more affected by the lcokdown, with social venues closed, now the virus is going to still spread to the same percentage of the population untill immunity is reached, its just now we have moved from the group thats going to be infected from being heavily biased towards those that are going to be less badly ill, to towards it being a more even cross section, now I know we strive for equality these days but this is not what anyone wants.
Think of how many precutions could have been put in place at care homes for all the furlough that was paid out, but no they discharged folk who they didnt know whether were infected or not back into care homes...
