GB News

It's the free market. If someone doesnt like your product or where its being advertised and you want those people to buy it - you are not forced into anything.
Agreed. But cancel culture isn't about discussion, its about shutting down the opposing argument. If some activists decide that they don't like GB news because the GB news agenda is contrary to theirs, they don't get into discussion about it, they take aggressive action in an attempt to shut down GB news and that is what advertisers are scared of.
They're scared that activists will take to social media and other forms of modern coms in an attempt to damage their business or reputation with the direct aim of forcing them to disassociate themselves from GB news. In these cases, the advertisers have removed their advertising revenue quickly to avoid any potential cancel culture damage.

It's easier now to report on opinions than news as reporting on news requires research, analysis, knowledge whilst reporting on an opinion requires nothing. We now have opinions becoming and shaping the news. That's a dangerous place where we are heading and I see the Government actively encouraging it.
That's how we ended up with brexit!

I see that piers morgan has come out against those who are boycotting advertising on the GB propaganda news channel...

Maybe he's seeing another money making opportunity disappear?

lol, just tuned in, and woke was mentioned literally in 2 seconds.

OMG, this GB News is painful to watch. They could do with presenters that know what they're doing.

The DUP severed its links with this organisation long before it emerged that some of its members had links to paramilitary organisations.
Quote..

When the DUP were asked to condemn the Ulster Resistance in 2016 they said "the party's stance is consistent, that anyone involved in illegal activity should be investigated and face the full weight of the law."[7]

The production, presenters and audio are certainly not slick.

Content is variable in quality as well. You can certainly tell its all brand new.

Just seen it for the first time. It’s a bit cringy and amateurish. Only person on there that seems professional and at ease is the weatherman! They can’t seem to synch the voices of those being interviewed remotely either.

Edit: My God, they can’t even read an autocue and there’s too much a delay between one presenter finishing talking and the other one starting. Just went live to PMQ and no sound. Presenters like rabbits in the headlights and you could hear the control room talking to them. I hope it gets better. Sound gone completely now. Are they using second hand equipment bought from eBay?

Lol, now PMQ sound is back but not vision and the presenters are talking over it because they can’t hear. That’s enough for me. I’m oot!

There is a wider discussion to be had - but to call it cancel culture is weaponising the term. I didn't see much of this outrage when anything was labelled as "socialism" - it cancelled all debate -but now when it's the supposed left doing the same - its upsetting.

All of this is upsetting. GB News is not here to bring people together and report the news - its here to stoke divisions like the Daily Mail.

Like Piers GMTV he became a part of the news as much as reporting on it - this gets viewers.

Why do you need to seek out views that match your own? News should be fact based and sure I disagree with the political output of the BBC and Sky at times but at least they report on the news.

What about the ownership structure of GB News?

But people didn't stop buying it that's the point, the majority of consumer still bought it.

Statues is another case in point...

The issue of statues is way way overblown. I am not one for removing statues. But if that is where the debate is happening we are in trouble.

The more concerning aspect is how kids are taught history and what history is taught.

the statue nonsense has been blown up out of all proportion by those sympathetic to the slave trade.

guess how many slaver statues have been pulled down by mobs in the UK

a)100

b) 10

c) 1
