Looks like Europe are showing their full spite against the UK.

I read that I'm on winning and losing side today.
Italy won, UK got zero points.
Best of both worlds

The irony of it is that, if you go to any country in Europe or, indeed the world, their radio stations play nothing but songs from British musicians and almost always in English.

The French are an exception because I believe they have a law which says their radio stations must be done mainly done in the French language.
It was 40%, so still not "mainly done in French".
It's now been reduced to 35% (2016 I believe) after influence from French artists, who felt that the limit was counter productive, and they wanted to sing in English as well as French for more international acclaim.

There's plenty of English and US songs on pop stations, and plenty of interviews with British and US artists.

Of course classical stations tend to play mostly European composers, and jazz stations tend to play mostly US artists.

There also stations specialising in foreign music, for whom the limit does not apply.

At least the Italian entry appeared to be playing their instruments, rather than having accoutrements strung round their necks which they obviously had no ability to play. I can't remember which country it was, they might as well have given them tennis racquets and golf clubs to carry. (n) :(

I'm not a fan of heavy rock and shouty lyrics, but as I only caught the occasional glimpses of other entries, and the winner's performance, I'm in no position to judge any of the entries.

Never watched the eurotrash song contest, but it's all over the Italian news today, so it can't be missed.

Not true I'm afraid

Never watched it

But how come Israel are in it

didn’t know Israel were in Europe

Thanks must go to the Iceland jury representative, whose presentation brought some welcome humour to what was another dull contest. ;)
