May Hammered Over Police Numbers

It will have exactly didly squat deterrent effect. It might put off the local burgular from ransacking yer home or scare off the local street yob.
But as for jihadi murderers going out purposefully to die for allah after killing as many innocent by standers as possible???
pffft

I would wager a few pints that some may well be deterred but even if they were not, it may cut short the killing spree.

This would be more useful imo..
The German government will electronically tag all people on the country’s terror watch list even if they have committed no crime, reflecting a tougher approach in the wake of December’s terror attack in Berlin.

And no need for thousands of armed officers on the streets costing millions.
Northern Ireland was crawling with police and soldiers for decades and it achieved exactly didly squat.

And it's fair to say that internment didn't achieve any reduction in violence and mayhem in NI

Quite interesting:

Peter Kirkham is former senior officer at the met.

So you are talking about turning the UK into a facsimile of all the other goucho third-world second-rate police states, and entrusting any old doley to keep us safe.

And that's how you'd like to live?

And that will stop the local jihadi mowing down 10 people in as many seconds?

With respect Woody, what you write is bunkum.

We won't be a facsimilie of any third world state and we certainly won't be second rate. The people you affectionately call doley would be hand picked by the army as young, fit and willing and would be trained into loyal and dedicated soldiers, just like any other.

Would I like to live like that?
It's a needs must situation. I would far rather that than what you seem to be proposing (as you have not outlined your alternative suggestions) which is change nothing and carry on as we always have.

Blightymam's post is an eyeopener.

I did not realise that the police were so depleted that they are actually running on empty.

It is easy to get reassured by politicians who constantly insist XYZ is the truth, when quite plainly, all is not as it seems.

He said in no uncertain terms that the government are lying about police numbers and it would seem they have twisted a few figures around to make them look better than the actual truth, which there ought to be some law against.

If even Sky News have turned on Theresa, the Sun will be next. Her heartland of unthinking followers is gone.

For today, the Sun has a banner "Danger to Britain" but has not added her photo yet.

If the leader (MD) of a private organisation was considered partly responsible for several deaths and many more serious injuries, perhaps through neglect or reduction of budgets, would thy feel obliged to resign?
Would there be calls for them to resign?

Typical nonsensical comments and links.
The first link is from a anti-Islam web site, as Nosey points out.

These subsequent references make it obvious that the problem is not that Muslims do not want to work, as suggested by the anti-Islam website, but the problem is prejudice against Muslims restricting their employment opportunities:
