If anyone comes into our great country and wants to live here as a permanent resident, then they should respect our own culture and way of life and not try to bring theirs with them and force it on us.
Hmmmnnnn ... What culture might that be then?

If I, as a bonafide British citizen, wish to practice some obscure faith or other and decide to build a house of worship to that faith then I am perfectly entitled to do so am I not?

What then is the difference? Either you want everyone to be treated equally or you don't ... Not simply when it serves your cause.

MW

The key here is equal treatment, not being positively discriminated against.

If you want to talk about how taxpayers money is wasted in this country that's a whole new topic in itself ... 2 Words ... Millennium Dome ... Nuff said?

Don't confuse the wasting of public money with meeting the needs of a diverse ethnic community whether they be newly settled here or British citizens ... Many British citizens use Mosques chaps.

MW

There's no denying that, Meg; ditto the forthcoming Olympics. However, it's not just about taxpayers' money and the wasting thereof, but the "rights" that particular minorities seem to gain over and above the majority that foment unease and unrest.

For me the facts that Sikhs don't have to wear motorcycle helmets is a real písser :).

Never seen a Sikh on a motor bike. they are a smart people that always seem to drive a new Mercedes.

This is where you are either a glass half full or half empty kind of guy ... I'd sooner wear a crash helmet occasionally than wear a towel on my head permanently

MW

Ah, I'm an engineer, so the glass is twice as big as it needs to be :).

You have a point about cloaking one's head in a towel though!

Then, presumably by your oft-displayed paradigm of truisms, in that you have never seen one, ergo they don't exist?

No. I've just never seen one. That's what I said - and that's all I mean. Gedditt?

Makes a change then. You been sniffing the reasonableness salt today, or something?

I'm always reasonable - it's you that isn't.

Unless it cost you your job. As unemployment rises and the economy slips into recession - you may well change your mind.

As the House of Lords says: "The only benefit of immigration is with the immigrants."
It's just a load of people the we don't need.

:? I'm sure I've had this argument with you before...

Please tell me how you can confidently say it would cost jobs?

And your HoL quote is xenophobic drivel.

The benefit of immigration is clearly more than they say. You are forgetting the countless numbers of "immigrants" who are law-abiding, hard-working citizens. They pay tax & NI and contribute to the economy just as much as you or I.

Please, joe, do me a favour:

When feeling all that hatred for all these awful "immigrants" piling into the country, taking our jobs & our women & our benefits & not giving anything in return, to save a bit for all the Brits that do the same. Thanks.

Oh, and while you're at it.... cut the (he won't answer) rubbish.

It makes you look so immature (which you have assured me in the past you are not).

Daytona (or anyone else for that matter) has every right to defend himself against your immaterial questions. He is right - his skin colour has absolutely nothing to do with anything and I wish you'd stop trying to make such a huge issue of it at every possible opportunity.

It makes you look so immature (which you have assured me in the past you are not).
