Get real, The USA and others import far too much from China to do much at all.

The other aspect is that the majority of Chinese people are happy with their government.. People can be found in any country that aren't and they may turn out to be the ones that stir things up. China is creating jobs and wealth at what all countries would see as an enviable rate. That is unlikely to change for rather a long time especially because they are more inclined to do their own thing now rather than copy.
China has lifted more of its people out poverty than any other country in history.
China is only nominally a communist state, in the west its economic system is regarded as a form of state Capitalism.
It is predicted that China will overtake America as the worlds no1 economy as early as 2028, when this happens it will cause a grave psychological shock to American prestige and sense of exceptionalism, this is the driving force behind Trumps slogan "Make America Great Again" the use of the word Again in Trumps slogan shows the underlying sense of anxiety that America is no longer as powerful as it once was.

this one starts and finishes earlier and later

Interesting to see that China started number one - it is inevitable that they will soon be number one again (especially since they made covid to destroy the rest of the world!:ROFLMAO:)

They might have a rather big crash as Japan did but they have an enormous population. Domestic market size is one of the aspects that keeps the USA's boat afloat. Also that as they had so much gold that the USD became the currency of the world. Both have had some odd effects. Japan for instance at their peak bought and sold USD to maintain it's value. China have loads of them. The UK's reserve is interesting as well. The entire foreign currency reserve was worth "186655.93 USD Million in December"

The videos show GDP. In some respects a countries trade deficit doesn't matter any more. They gets mentioned and that's about it.

Something else not on the BBC ... at yesterday's news conference (live streamed on the BBC and live updates on the BBC site with the key points) Hancock was asked by a reporter about the WHO's comments regarding being "on the brink of a moral catastrophic failure” for its unequal sharing of COVID-19 vaccinations.
It seemed like one of the usual reporter questions trying to catch out rather than inform.

Anyway, the reply was the the UK is the major contributor to the programme of ensuring the vaccine is available to the poorer countries. Something to be proud of, a positive news item for the UK but something that seems to have been missed by the BBC.

No the BBC have mentioned what the Oxford vaccine was aiming at several times. Cheap and easy to use was the major aim. That's why they decided to produce a virus - a real one rather than mRNA.

Another interesting covid number has emerged from NOS. 23% of covid deaths have been people from care homes. The care home population is ~1% of the total population of the UK.

First time I have heard this and it will be interesting to see if the numbers change.

It's terrible, but unsurprising. People only go to care homes when they are very old and are no longer able to look after themselves, often due to chronic health conditions like COPD. And they often lunch in communal areas, and have a lot of external help and visits.

I heard it on R4

Oxford research reveals that the UK now has the world's highest daily Corona virus death rate:eek::eek::eek::eek:

Quick give me a vaccine! give me a vaccine!!!!
Because I really believe the lying bstrds in charge of compiling the figures.

Don't worry, you aren't at risk from Covid, sitting in the dark, at home, on the internet with your tin foil hat on.

If they did, they don't appear to have made a very good job of it, the worlds wealthiest have never had it so good.

One report from a care home. Woman had jab pre Xmas, now showing positive to covid and still ok. 4.2 millions had the jab and no reported deaths. I'm pretty sure it would leak out if there had been.

Entertainment. Not sure how true. USA looked at China's vaccine and said it's 50% effective so China look at Pfizer and concluded that is 50% effective as well. Who to believe - neither. National prided at stake.
