The same argument was made about Germany not wanting sanctions against Russia as they had such a surplus of trade with them and in the end the EU did put sanctions on Russia.

The biggest delusion in all these discussions is the position of the UK as a position of strength - I sincerely hope we come to our senses.
The EU sanctions on Russia extended to military equipment and dual purpose equipment to Russia..

The disUnited Kingdom is in the Northern Atlantic, separated from Holland, Belgium, France and Spain by sea.

According to the Guardian, DD was just there for the meet and greet before he went back for a 3 line whip vote in the houses of parliment. He didn't need any notes, because he left 90 odd guys to do the negotiating with their counterparts, and they're the one who would have had the stack of notes in front of them.

Begs the question of why Barnier had his notes of course.

Yes, the German car manufacturers have already said that they stand by the benefits to the greater good..

They have said no such thing... A couple of minority trade associations said that.

There is a reason why some foreign owned manufacturers choose to build their iconic British brands in the UK, despite that it may be more efficient to build them elsewhere.... Build a Bentley in Germany and sales will fall through the floor...VW have already studied that option. As it is, the Crewe plant is designing another new model and is building a new production plant for it in Crewe

... Do you really believe that VAG, BMW, MB, et al are going to stand by

Poor ignorant Quitters, still avoiding reality.

None of this is News. It's been known since well before the referendum, and is still known now. Only a self-deluding quitter could pretend not to know. Theresa's "No Deal" would only make things worse.

The truth is, Quitters want to Quit even though it will leave the dUK poorer and weaker.

You quote much but none of the links that you quote actually understand the motor industry... By the way, why would it make sence for Ford to build engines in the UK to ship them off to assembly plants overseas, why not make them closer to the assembly plants?... Does anyone remember the EU giving Ford a grant to move production of the Ford Transit from Southampton to Turkey?

Ahh bless,The poor remoaners look at any scenario and think that the worlds caving in. There will be so many companies, firms and business's hedging their bets, and making provisions in case the worst case scenario does actually happen. Some will be trying to make a point threatening to move several thousand jobs abroad, whilst others will end up having an office abroad, whilst continuing to operate in the UK.

At the end of the day, it doesn't mean a thing.

The Quitters are so dumb that they can't understand that resigning from the world's finest free trade group will damage our international trade in goods and services. Almost as dumb as a politician who thinks that threatening "no deal" is more of a threat to the rest of the group than it is to the country she should be trying to protect.

Big manufacturers don't like change as it requires expeniture so obviously when large changes are in the pipeline they will do what they can to stop the changes.... Many other smaller businesses are rubbing their hands at the thought of a new challenge with new opportunities
