They are running a study to see how long antibodies last. I've not noticed any signs of results from it but was mentioned early on.

A virologist on the box recently came up with a dose of 20 viral particles to get things going. Several have mentioned that talking will spread it. Our noses deflect stuff down. Wonder if that is evolution.

Avoidance instructions everywhere usually mention hand hygiene.This doesn't entirely fit in with the authoritative link provided but clearly outside is best. Some aspects of the profile of people that do catch it make me think that shopping could be a major cause of spreading. That fits in with Koreas use of card usage as well. Hand cleaning seems to be aimed at getting rid of viruses picked up by touch. It's known that one person can infect lots indoors. Since it's known about if I went somewhere and found a person coughing I'd run. Makes me wonder if that really is the main way it spreads. There is a lot more talk now of a critical couple of days before symptoms appear and maybe when they don't.

The life time of the virus out of the body depends on temperature and humidity. It seems to do well where ever it is. One concern in the uk autumn and later will be flu, colds too in some ways. Having 3 thing about that can have symptoms is bad news. Also trying to deliver millions of flu vaccinations.

There is also talk about detecting the virus. RNA easy but if it's still alive not so easy. Also looking for super spreaders.

Lots of authoritative rumbles about the UK's approach even PHE being unfit for use. Could we have the current measures sitting around waiting to be used though? I wonder.

Then there is peoples orientation to each other. Intentions should become clearer this week. Some preschool services have been using face shields as the kids find them acceptable. I suspect they wont just be able to rely on probability in say restaurants etc but as per food shops might just protect the staff plus gallons of hand sanitiser.

I visited a very large furniture shop yesterday. Every member of staff was wearing a face shield. We were offered masks as we arrived and we were gently directed to the hand sanitising station as soon as we entered. I wish all stores would follow suit. I also wish the 4 devolved governements would get off the fence and make mask wearing mandatory indoors.

However, the authorities can only do so much and there are people, like all these mass gathering protestors, who don't know or don't care. I was walking down a moderately narrow pavement yesterday. There were two women ahead of me outside a shop. One of them was faffing around at the doorway of the shop. The other was at the edge of the pavement with a dog on a long lead - the dog was at the shop door with the other woman. No problem I thought, I'll step off the pavement around the parked cars and get past them on the roadway. As I'm coming up towards the dogwalker who is sideways on to me and about 6-8 feet away. She turned her head around to me and let off an enormous uncontained sneeze at my head before I had time to dodge. There is no excuse, there really isn't and in some cases there is absolutely no hope either.
