What car did you pass your driving test in?

Nissan micra mark 1, passed first time. Mate of mine, back in the mid 1970's, took his test in his platform shoes, the four inch heel got wedged under the brake pedal and he crashed the car.

Mate of mine shut his flared trouser in the door, came to the first stop and couldn’t get his foot on the brake pedal. He was in his dad’s cortina so no dual control. Examiner had to pull the handbrake up. Fail.

Passed 2nd attempt - the examiner I had was notorious for not passing anyone 1st attempt. Same for bike test.
On my bike test, I was the last test of the day. The examiner told me he had passed everyone else that day so far but he’d never had a day where he had passed everyone. No pressure then! I passed. Made his day, and mine.

Morris Minor with three seats
Usual configuration and third seat in the middle behind the driver and passenger seat.
Van was green with a crown on the door and Post Office written on it

I genuinely can't remember, I have a feeling it were a Vauxhall Viva, not the boxy one, the one after.
Same as me then. the Vauxhall Viva HB. 1256 engine.

That is a Motorcycle I'll have you know, none of that moped rubbish. OOT 61G it was.

A Mini 1000, first time. Was convinced I’d failed because the instructor said to wind down the window at a certain junction which likely required a hand signal. I forgot but still passed. Cannot now remember what hand signal was required, or why.

That's the Vauxhall, I think they had the edge over a Ford in that era. Just reminded me, my very first car before I could even legally drive was a Vauxhall Victor, the one with the rounded off boot lid. When I viewed it it had a rough tick over and made a tapping noise which I pointed out, the bloke said no worries lad, bring the revs up a touch and it's as smooth as silk, and he was right, and it was only 50 quid.. After driving it home and before setting out on an adventure, I decided to do a little maintenance, I took off the air filter and managed to drop a small nut into the carburettor, after trying to retrieve it I abandoned it thinking it couldn't do any harm. So, on my first drive I reached the parade of shops just down the road and it kicked off, people were diving for cover because of what sounded like an AK47 in a Synagogue, this would have been that tiny nut percussing around the combustion chamber, by the time I got to the end of the parade there was a single, more defined noise, which I suspect was the holing of the piston. Amazingly, It got me home but at no more than 10mph and it sat outside my house for 6 months before someone gave me a fiver for it.

Happy days.

Hand signals are still very much in use nowadays :ROFLMAO:
