What are you drinking tonight?

I stopped in 2018. Realised I no longer enjoyed being in an altered state.
I have been in so much trouble through drinking that after the Dr said I cannot drink after my accident I reflected on my past and decided I was better off leaving it alone.

I think I have had a drink problem, a lot of my mates have tried to tell me I am drinking too much on a weekend, I didn't realise I was.
If booze effects the following days as it did me then there is a problem.

I have been foolish as I really should have packed it up after recovering from Jaundice liver failure, but I gradually got back on it.

Was it that you got slaughtered or aggressive?

I get plebty of Dutch courage and could be funny. What I like most is I dont wake up cringing about something Ive done or said.

What I did notice and this is really odd, I never drank through the week whist at work, but I drank rather heavily at the weekend. I noticed at work my hands shaking when I was working on anything intricate. I suspected I might be starting with Parkinsons or something. My hands completely steadied after I stopped and realised it must be the drink that caused the shaking. Worrying to say the least.

Do you function better through out the week?

Mainly slaughtered to the point I couldn't speak or recognise the state I was in. A bit embarrasing but I have had a few probems in the past and I think drinking was my way of blocking out bad memories.

Talking to an teacher this morning shes drying herself out. She wants to be totally cleansed before she flys back ti see family in India. She looks better for it as well.

My fitness levels have risen considerably and my whole awareness has increased. Good luck to her.

Just catching up on this thread.

I applaud everyone who's giving zero alcohol a go.

There are many great drinks out there with no alcohol.

I've worked out it must be 20 years since I last drank alcohol.

As for 0.5%, don't worry. You will never get drunk on it, because you cannot physically drink enough of the stuff to get intoxicated.
Your liver will break down this tiny amount of alcohol much faster than you can drink it.
Actually, there are foods like some breads and ripe bananas that ordinarily contain similar amounts of alcohol.
