I lost interest when I noticed that my ethnicity was fifth on the list - just before 'None of these'
For those that are interested, my understanding is that ethnicity has an influence on your chances of becoming diabetic.
That was not the point.

It was that probably some pc obsessed civil servant discriminated positively to place 'white' last.

It was observed that the choices were in alphabetical order except that 'south asian' does not begin with 'a'.

My GP recently said a blood test showed mine as 8.3

The norm, I think, is between 4 and 6. Bothered by this, I got a test kit from Boots rather than wait for a second professional report.

Got home, pricked finger = 4.7

Showed Maria, (lodger), and did hers.. 5.6.

Tried it several times since and I'm consistent at between 4.7 to 5.9.

Would do it more but the strips for the test meter are a ridiculous rip-off!

Like printers, the printer is cheap but they make the cartridges/strips cost more than the fuk-in printer! (Unless you're a diabetic).

I haven't asked for my GP results from the second opinion/test....

Am on BP pills after a 'near miss' some 18 months ago. But, for my age, I'm looking good and doing well...

I turned the pricking device up to level 8 for her. (Only needs to be on 2 or 3)

Level 6 could pierce a rhino's bum

if you answer every but white you get automatic 7.

a better test is to get your fasting glucose tested and/or do a glucose tolerance test. it will show you how well your body is dealing with blood sugar.

I check mine once in a while. fasting test is about 4-5 mmol/L

it look like going on a low carb diet for a little while or doing fasting a few times a week can really help.

or doing high intensity work out(were you a make out of breath and cant talk for a while) can also help.

type 2 can be made much or manageable with lifestyle changes...cab be reversed in a luck few as well

I got 10.
5 for my age and 5 for BP but that is due to having CKD stage 2.
GP and specialist at Addenbrookes have said I am as fit as a guy half my age so nothing to worry about.

Apparently they are listed in order of risk factor ie South Asian being highest risk etc.

True, typically type two doesn't affect people in uk until about 40 or over and type 1 will usually come before 40 but usually toddlers and teens statistically.
I was diagnosed t1 at the age of 29 almost 3 years ago.

Studies show that type two is increasing rapidly for children/teens in South Asian countries.

Tone, you jammy bleeder.

Last time I tried to p rick the lodger, Mrs Secure tried to cut my todger off.
