Brexit fatigue

...perhaps I should have said that the EU is refusing to negotiate further...

as you say, the EU negotiated in good faith with the government of the UK for more than two years, but the deal agreed by the UK government has been rejected by the UK parliament.

if you were the EU, would you now be offering improved terms to the UK government? or to someone who was not the UK government? Who do you think is competent to try to renegotiate?

If the UK government are rejecting the terms presently on offer from the EU then it makes sense that if they really want a deal then the EU should try to find out what the UK will accept.
That means they should start talking again.
Of course you have a point when you ask who is competent enough to re-enter negotiations with the EU.

No, it means that the UK should somehow decide what it is they want.

Which they have so far been unable to agree.

It is not the EU's job to define the UK's requirements.

The EU should be back at the negotiating table if they want to avoid a no deal.
I left a job once and the company wouldn't negotiate at all.

Do you know the unreasonable buggers stopped paying me and even wanted their van back.

Why should the exasperated EU waste anymore time? What is currently on offer is the best there is. The UK either says yes or no.
Why do you not understand the EU stance on this, which has been iterated many times? The EU have categorically stated there will be no more talks.

We had 2 years to negotiate a deal. The EU is not there to negotiate with the UK indefinitely. They have their own work to do now. We have a deal, it is up to us whether we accept the deal, leave without a deal or cancel brexit. As hard as it might be to believe, the EU has more important things to deal with than Brexit.

I suppose the amount of planning for a no deal and the cost must be frustrating for the EU.

They must be really excited by the thought of Brexit discussions with Boris

Hunt's courting the tory members....

"Foreign Secretary and Tory Leadership Candidate, Jeremy Hunt, has revealed that he will attempt to legalise fox hunting if he goes on to replace Theresa May as Prime Minister on July 23rd.

Speaking during a Podcast for The Telegraph, the widely-despised former Health Secretary revealed his plans, stating that he would support a vote in Parliament if he gets into Number 10"

The EU wouldn’t negotiate when TM had her hands effectively tied behind her back when a no deal was taken off the table by parliament. Let’s see whether their position has changed now it’s back on.

The EU wouldn’t negotiate

The EU did negotiate for more than two wasted years.

But because the brexers couldn't agree among themselves what they want, they rejected all the options.

They don't care - negotiations are over. The deal is the best they can offer. No deal is not on the table - no deal means closing the border in Ireland, and there is no way that will be allowed.

We're not leaving the EU. Boris might try to force no deal with Farage and co, but it will be stopped by parliament. There'll be a big show of making it look like they will do a hard brexit, but it will all collapse at the final moment. It's all part of the plan.
