...that Europeans have just started getting their Covid vaccines? What happened to all their collective buying and priority powers we were hearing about?

Something you notice when working in places with numbers of people (enough people for self-interest to be viable but not terminal to the whole, but small enough that each knows each other).....

...when it's all going fine, it all goes basically swimmingly,

....and when there's an issue, the cracks start to show, and self-preservation starts to take precedence over the whole.......(y)

Check your source, the EU ain't got 12.5m doses, nor will they catch up with us, (unless they start hijacking lorries again).

How many do they have? The level of information generally available on this seems pretty slim, so any you can link to would be interesting.

One quote from Pfizer said there were millions of doses ready to go when it was approved but that doesn't prove anyone right.

It is a shame that now we're out the EU they could cut off our supply, but they probably won't.

Stop making things up,Germany itself will recieve 1.3m doses before the end of the year, will take time to use them, some countries don't start till January.

Pfizer might have millions of doses ready but Germany didn't put a firm order in till mid Nov having put their confidence behind Sanofi, which won't be ready till late 2021.

Each EU country recieved 10,000 doses yesterday(could of worded that better) :)

France aim to vaccinate 15m by summer.

who cares how many have been done in the EU. Can we focus on getting our **** show in order please?
Hospitals are in crisis, cases still increasing, idiots out spreading it all over the place. My brother's partner has it now - she is a care worker, went to hospital to get a vaccine and picked up covid while there. Bloody joke. They should shut the schools and use school halls to administer vaccines.

But then where are they going? It'd be nice if we have them here but apparently we don't. The US was also sluggish on Pfizer if not mistaken.

But the Pfizer one is fairly negligible to us. The AstraZenica one has been ordered and manufactured in much greater quantity, add in that it's easier to use and it'll be the vast majority of the Vaccine used in the UK.
