Leaking sink waste

Why did you move the washers?
There should be a black one going to the strainer and another one going to the trap.
Look inside the fitting, usually they're already fitted.

This is the correct way. Also does the small bowl trap connection reach? If so, you may just have to extend the left hand side one using Johnny’s suggestion of a trap extension.

Hi Chris will that bottom black washer definitely not pull off with the water weight as the u bend will be about 1inch above the plinth? As I've tried pulling it off by hand and is possible? Can I still reuse this washer even though I've been pulling it off and on?

Hi Johnny I purchased 40mm Pipe and 40mm couplers and elbows as I read on Google that sinks have 40mm Pipe and basins 32mm, I fooked up!

Therefore I will need to buy some 32mm pipe and couplers to match the trap?
40mm is correct

I can’t say definitely as it’s not me who’s fitting it :D however, if you do it right, it won’t come off. McAlpine products are superior to that grey shoitte, plus your solvent weld pipe has some rigidity.

If the trap is 40mm and the pipe is 40mm you haven’t cocked up.

Hi Johnny here is the photo of all the parts I got in the bag, that upright to go to the bottom of the strainer doesn't have any washer in it?

At a bit of a loss to what goes where as if doesn't tell you on the instructions?

Ok, get it back to this point, then just change the stem part from trap to strainer making sure there’s a washer at both ends. Also did the branch off reach the other strainer waste? Cut the elbow bottom left, use the solvent weld coupling and extend this up using pipe. Come off with a 90 elbow as it was previously, but obviously higher up, and a piece of pipe to suit the trap.

Hi Chris this is how I'm proposing reattaching it as per the photo? Do all the washer things look right and where they should be?

The bit that extends up to the strainer doesn't have anything in the end of it? But I've got 3 bits left over as per photo?

As per the previous photo above not all the black washers are the same 3 of them are like straight cut thick washers which I assume goes on the pipe to stop the nut coming off? This is what I've done in the below photo but there is also 1 x tapered thicker washer? And a Red hard one?

Conical one and red hard one are nut to trap end (should be in instructions), but white nut, red washer, then conical washer, flat end towards nut. The thicker straight black one will go in the piece connecting the nut to strainer. If you used the nut and washer from the universal coupling (interchangeable), then you will have left overs.

The red ring goes on the large compression nut (not in the photo, where is it?) As well as the conical washer.
The bits marked in blue should all have square section washers.

I'd fit the waste kit onto the sink, make sure it all sits nicely, nothing is strained or doesn't look right, and then look at joining the outlet from the trap to your existing waste pipe. If it doesn't line up, (as in pics on #54) you will need to alter the white waste pipe to suit, do not try and force the waste kit and trap to fit it.

Given the angle of that waste pipe, it may way be prudent to cut off the bend and redo that section anyway.

Hi Johnny,

I've attached a photo below of the large compression nut, with the red ring and the tapered washer? I didn't use this as on the existing white pipework I took the male both sides coupling off as that looked like it was no longer needed for this setup and was planning on reusing the existing large nut and tapered washer (photos below)?

Regarding the blue areas you circled for the square section washers, I don't have one that fits on the dishwasher connection (but the plastic fitting has a bit of a mold shape to it therefore is this instead of it? (photo below)

Also the other area marked blue going to the 2nd strainer already has a black type washer installed? I've also put the other type of black washer just resting on top so you can see the difference it's thicker? Therefore is this needed? Or is the one that's already installed and fixed in the groove sufficient?

Also the end of the fixed nut at the top of the pipe that fixes to strainer 1 doesn't have anything inside it does it need something? (photo attached?)?
