What matters in a negotiation is who has the greater influence / power. This is not a negotiation between equals.
Ahh bless,The poor remoaners look at any scenario and think that the worlds caving in. There will be so many companies, firms and business's hedging their bets, and making provisions in case the worst case scenario does actually happen. Some will be trying to make a point threatening to move several thousand jobs abroad, whilst others will end up having an office abroad, whilst continuing to operate in the UK.

At the end of the day, it doesn't mean a thing.

What is the worst case scenario?

Big manufacturers don't like change as it requires expeniture so obviously when large changes are in the pipeline they will do what they can to stop the changes.... Many other smaller businesses are rubbing their hands at the thought of a new challenge with new opportunities

You really don't know what big businesses prefer or like or whether these opportunities can be taken by smaller businesses. You have some examples?

We are part of an integrated supply chain across Europe so they have built their supply chains with that in mind. Now if we leave the single market and freedom of movement then that will impact the supply chains so once decisions before made sense they may not in the future.

So a cast made in France is transported to the UK, then onto Germany then back to the UK.

Another well-travelled car part is the Bentley bumper. It is made in eastern Europe before being sent to Crewe for further work, then on to Germany for finishing and finally back to Crewe where it is added to the luxury vehicle.

I just give up at how totally brainless some are to the realities of modern supply chains and manufacturing.

Don't you think that it is a little silly to have such a complicated and inefficient supply chain when the component could be manufactured within a few miles of the factory? Tell us again how concerned the EU is about the production of carbon dioxide from those trucks that trundle up and down the M6 all day and every day.... The EU is a licence to be inefficient. Break the supply chain and new smaller suppliers pop up closer to home..

FB its clear you have a very rudimentary understanding of the issues. Have a read of this to get some idea what factors are considered when it comes to locating premises to manufacture.

What you think is inefficient is based simply on distance, when you don't know what other factors come into consideration.

So what factors do you think were involved in the EU loaning Ford cash to move production of the Transit from Southampton to Turkey? ans why is movement of Ford products not an issue from the EU to an none EU country in that particular case?

So you are suggesting that you would pay them any ammount that they asked for even if meant us paying them to allow them to import their goods and t accept all of the EU's immigrants
I was ok with things the way they were thanks. If the EU start getting greedy let's have another vote eh?

Does anyone remember the EU giving Ford a grant to move production of the Ford Transit from Southampton to Turkey?
You mean a loan.

Turkey builds them cheaper. Simple economics. They are hardly likely to loan their money to a dead end factory in Southampton and risk a loan default.

Heard on the radio that romania is bricking it

As the finacial hole that will be left after the UK exits the EU will cause austerity in the EU

those countries with there hands out ;);) may well have there subsidies cut ;)

blimey could be more hotel rooms stripped of there furnishings in future EU diplomatic meet ups :)
